Camco 40542 Heavy-Duty 20lb or 30lb Dual Propane Tank Cover (Polar White)

Strong, modern cover. Looks great over our aged white cover. We kept our old white cover for storage and traveling while applying this one once set up camping. We figure the cover should last much longer while retaining its "new" look. We have 30# tanks and this cover fits perfectly, covering the entire tanks and leaving just enough room for opening/closing the tank via the valve handles. Its easy to assemble as it comes basically in three pieces, the two sides and the top access panel There were about 8 small bolts/nuts to assemble the two sides and some adjustable knobs/bolts to put the top access cover on. Took about 10 minutes to assemble **drinking a beverage during assembly ;o)**. Price was right and quality is really good. I recommend it!

The small "tabs" underneath for attaching are practically useless, although probably not really needed anyhow -- the cover slips over the tanks with a tight enough fit so that it will not "blow" of vibrate off when traveling. For those who never plan to "upgrade" to the taller 30 lb. tanks, my suggestion would be to opt for the smaller cover made only for the 20 lb. tanks. In any event, the cover is well made and easy to assemble and use.

It really NEEDS a bungee or similar to hold it down, and it doesn't come with one. Otherwise it's OK. I regret not buying another soft cover. I suspect this is more trouble than it's worth. I'm trading in my camper, and my soft cover was looking kind of ratty, so I gussied up the rig by adding this. I don't have a specific complaint, but it's a disappointment. It's not solid, and without a bungee to hold it in place - at the bottom of the cover and under the tank platform - I suspect it would just blow away. I love CAMCO stuff...have tons of it. This item is the first of their products that didn't get a 5 star rating from me.

I have had this product installed for 5 years now. East to install, still work great. Keep in mind that a 2018 Ram 1500 has better, heavier tail then new trucks. If you need/want to install one, I highly recommend this one

This cover was just as it was described polar white 20 to 30 pound tank fit and easy access to the valves. My only complaint is the way it fits together as both halves are identical and I understand that from a manufactures standpoint and that is a plus for the engineers who put it togetheer on the drawinging board. I just thought that one piece would fit insde the other so as to have a front and back, but who knows, this will work out just as well. I like the fact that it was na easy assembly with CLEAR instructions to help me from making a mistake in putting it together. This cover goes great with my RV and helps it to look great.Yes i would buy this again and recomend it to anyone who would need one. Thanks

Nice cover and much better then the one that came with my Hybrid RV. Allows you to get to the valves from the top which is really nice if you have a Hybrid where the front bed is above the LP tanks so if you need to get to your tanks you won't have to put the pop-out beds back in just to lift the cover off the LP tanks. The top opening lid isn't going anywhere like someone posted here that they lost it on the road. If you close it like you should it locks in place and is very secure... no way could it come off and get lost. I Ordered Polar white and thats what I received and matches the old one.

These clam shell pieces go together easily. They slid right over my two 20lb LP tanks on our 2019 Jayco Jay Flight 287BHS. They will also fit over 30lb tanks if your camper is so equipped. The access door on the top works well. There are two plastic tabs underneath. I used a short bungee cord to secure the assembled covers to the tongue of my camper. The covers don't come with anything to secure the tank cover for highway use so you will need a bungee or rope of some kind. The covers never moved on our 75 mile trip from our driveway to the campground. My granddaughter "helped" me and assembly was so easy she helped with a cookie in one hand.

This cover is such a disappointment, but after shopping for hours, there's nothing better I can find on the market! Directions are awful. I get the first part that says not to tighten the screws too tight because after all this is flimsy plastic. The next part of the directions try to explain snapping these two screws into the top lid and fail miserably. This requires some serious pressure to achieve and make sure it isn't done backward or there will be a huge problem. Once achieved, I wonder why this was designed in this manner and I am guessing the first few times I open this door I will lose the nuts that attach to these screws! There has to be a million other ways to design this better. And finally, there isn't a real manufactured plan for keeping this cover on the propane tanks when traveling down the road. There are two flimsy tiny holes on plastic "tabs" on the front and back of the cover and the manufacturer suggests that some small bungy cords be used with these holes to keep the cover on. If this thing lasts a year I will be very surprised. I do hope someone will make a decent one in the future.

This cover gave my RV a new updated look from the ratty soft cover we had. It protects the tanks extremely well. It most definitely will cover two 20 lb or 30 lb propane tanks perfectly. The top is secure from wind, but easily opened to check levels. Would recommend.
