It records radiation but is 30% low with calibrated Source
Been working around radiation since 1970s, always liked other products by this company. Have spent years recording External leakage radiation readings from a 160,000 volt x-ray source. (90,000 REM in center of the beam). Would not use this to get accurate readings, poor as a Go - NoGo Device if you have levels that you cannot exceed. Don’t waste your money…

Could not detect a test card, nor could the replacement !
Received one non-detecting Monitor 200, followed by another non-detecting replacement from Amazon. Neither one could detect a test card that I had purchased along with a GQ 600 Plus. The display and buttons of both units were operational. These are extremely lightweight, durable, and sold with a heavy-duty rubber protective cover. ------------------------------------------------------------ From Chapter 1: Introduction - Precautions (an online pdf manual) : Do not leave the Monitor 200 in temperatures over 100° F (38° C), or in direct sunlight for EXTENDED periods of time. (100° F) ? ------------------------------------------------------------ My only complaint about the Monitor 200 would be that the insect-like "tick tick tick" should be louder & lower in tone (or a loud beep). A bit pricy, but the Monitor 200 does seem to be an ideal choice... I may try to purchase one again sometime, or a more expensive upgrade. .
