At a loss for words
Warning, it's a long read, but I wanted to go into deep detail. To start, I have been a Rainbow vacuum user for so long. I love them and felt they worked amazingly. Next, I have 3 dogs & a cat. One is a thick coat lab and the cat sheds so much as well. Another next, I have horrible allergies and wanted something that would help keep them calm as well. I also have a lung disease and need something that will pick up as much junk as possible to keep them clear. Now, on to the Shark vacuum. I got tired of lugging around the Rainbow and wanted to look into a vacuum that my daughter could use and help out. I found this Shark vacuum and 6 others that grabbed my attention. I dug deep. I read through every review, good, bad, indifferent. I wanted a vacuum that was going to truly pick up pet hair/dander, as well as pick up sand & dirt. I was drawn to this specific vacuum saying pet & allergen vacuum and loved that so many of the reviews said it had amazing suction power. I thought there's no way ut can be as amazing as most were raving about. After 2 months of digging and narrowing down vacuums, I was left with this one. I finally decided to purchase it and see what all the fuss was about. It came in today and I immediately out it together to the it out. I had just vacuumed with my Rainbow vacuum 2 days before, so I didn't expect much. Oh....my....gosh...! I am blown away! Seriously, no joke! The picture you see attached was after 2 passes over a 2' x 2' area in my living room. Not kidding...pushed it forward, pulled it back. Did this one other time. I was completely astonished! There is no way my carpet is that dirty after using my Rainbow 2 days before! I swore by that vacuum and how great of a job it did, so I thought. This vacuum pulled out dirt, sand, pet fur from 3 families ago, it seems lol. I immediately took this picture and dumped the resivoir since it was full. I was excited to finish the rest of my living room and then move on to the rest of the house. It took me 30 minutes to vacuum my living room because I had to keep stopping to empty the reservoir. I am grossed out that it was that dirty, but so grateful that I purchased this Shark vacuum. The vacuum is super easy to put together. It's not heavy and is easy to use. I love that it has the large vacuum and the option to break it down to a hand held vacuum to get baseboards and hard to reach areas. I also love that the power switch has 3 positions; Off, Bare floor, and carpet. I love that there is a place on the vacuum for hose attachments. I love that the power cable is quite long. I love that it's compact enough to fit in my coat closet, but large enough to vacuum the living room quicker than the sport vacuum. It makes vacuuming a breeze. The price is amazing for being a Shark vacuum. This vacuum is so amazing that I finished vacuuming, rinsed the resivoir and filter, put it away, and immediately sat down to write this review. Seriously give this vacuum a try! Your only regret is that you didn't get it sooner. I will update this review if anything changes. I am convinced this is the perfect vacuum.

If you’re unsure, go for it!
I’m impressed. My 2nd Dyson lasted less than half the years my first one did. I figured I’d try this. Wow! I guess my Dyson stopped working well long before I noticed! My first pass with the shark I had to empty the cup almost immediately. I feel like 5 pounds of sand was sucked out of the carpet! I got replacement filters immediately since it was obvious my carpets have been neglected. Since using it my carpets have been so much cleaner. It works great. A few cons: cord is not that long. Collecting area is smaller than what I’m used to, the hose is awkward if I don’t lift it from base. Lastly the suction is so strong (not a bad feature)it is a workout to vac, it does have a suction dial to lessen the suction so that is a plus. Overall I’m happy with my purchase. Kinda wished I would have bought the next model up but having never owned a shark, I started cheaper. I have 2 dogs, cats and live in farm country. If this vac works for me, it can work for anyone!

Very strong suction!
We bought around black Friday, because my other one bit the dust the week before the holiday. I decided to try a Shark this time based solely on reviews because I didn't want to spend as much as I would need to for a Dyson and while my previous Hoover was great, it sounded like the Shark's had better suction. This one definitely had better suction than my previous Hoover of a very similar type. I am a mom of a 2 teens, and a long hair cat and they keep my floors nice and crumby, so I use my vacuum every other day (at least). I needed something "heavy duty", strong, but easy to use. This fit the bill. Pros - Strong suction and it's pretty lightweight. I'm a small woman (5'4 foot tall), so this is very important to me. - After vacuuming just once I am AMAZED (and disgusted) by the amount of stuff (hair, dirt, crumbs, etc) this thing sucks up. We don't wear shoes in our home, so it's mind boggling. - Long cord so you don't have to keep unplugging and plugging it in constantly. I think it goes a bit further than my Hoover did. - It's easy to release the hose to use it. On my previous Hoover I had to detach the hose, attach it to a certain place on the vacuum and switch the mode on it. With this one I just hit a button and it detaches. No hitting a switch and no having to remove the hose and attach it elsewhere. - It's easy to dump out the cup. - The roller has not needed to be cleaned yet. I was routinely cutting hair and string off the old roller of the old vacuum. My dog loves to destroy toys and so our home is usually strewn with stuffing, string and bit of fabric that eventually clog up the vacuum. No roller issues or clogging issues with this one so far. - It looks nice and has a nice color to it. Yeah, okay, so that doesn't "matter", but it kind of does when it's sitting in a visible place in your home. You don't want a ugly eye sore hanging around. Cons - Okay, so this was a MAJOR one for me: The suction is SO STRONG that I can't use it on the area rugs. They have a thick shag rug in both of their rooms (same rug) and it definitely will hide debris. The suction is so strong that the vacuum just gets stuck in place. This was a major issue for me and I honestly thought "I need to send this back", but I figured I could use one of the attachments (the wide one with nubs on it) and the hose to do their rugs. Fortunately, their rooms are small and the rugs are only 5x7. While I wish I could just use the vacuum normally to do their rooms, it's a trade off for the suction power that it has. It doesn't take too long to use the hose to get their carpets, but I'm always concerned about "missing a spot" because I'm using a little attachment and not the whole vacuum that covers a wide area. - The canister part of the vacuum seems very wide and clunky. It doesn't seem to affect my ability to tilt the vacuum to go under furniture, but it certainly "feels" clunky because it sits so far forward compared to the roller part. Regarding the fact it does not work well on area rugs, I recommend getting a little Shark hand vac. I got a cordless one at the same time as this vacuum and it's really super useful for small messes and for getting the area rugs when I don't feel like getting out the big vacuum.

Could be better on hardwood, great for stairs
So I bought this because I hadn’t bought a new vacuum for about 5 years. Right away, the suction was great. I use pine pellet litter for my cats, and while it’s decent at picking it up, it almost feels either a little too big or maybe too heavy for it because it takes a second in order to pick it up. I also noticed that while I went over my dining room, it sorta looked like I hadn’t vacuumed much even though I took a little bit of time with it. However, the suction still felt like it was good so I’m not sure if it’s just operator error or not. It’s fairly lightweight and makes about as much noise as any other typical household vacuum does. I have not tried it on high pile carpet yet, but I assume it will work alright because it has some crazy suction while on low pile/area rugs. The lift-away feature is amazing for stairs. I have hardwood stairs with some carpet pieces on top. The carpet pieces get particularly dirty and the vacuum has enough cord in order for me to reach the top of the stairs and get everything. The crevice tool was handy for getting the corners of the stairs and the upholstery tool was good for the hair our cats leave everywhere and I fully cleaned my couch of cat hair with it. Overall, I think it’s a good vacuum, but I’m not too sure about its ability on hardwood.

I like it!
I bought one after using my parents vacuum, it felt so light and got the job done so I jumped on amazon and I'm enjoying it so far. The ONLY thing (there's always a but) I don't like about it is the obscenely loud noise of the brush roll on setting, AND I feel like it gets easily stuck on most of my rugs, but I don't mind this that much. Overall, it's SO easy to maneuver, and easy on my achy breaky hands, I love that I can store the tools on the actual vacuum, and it's got a cord hook at the top so you can clip your cord so it will out of the way when you vacuum (no risk of running over it), and the top clip turns so you can quickly remove the entire cord. Overall I like it!!!! It also has a five year warranty which I love in case it malfunctions, but I will take care of it. I also like that the filters are washable, so no need to spend money on replacing too often. Putting this here in case it's helpful: Pre-motor filter: The foam and felt filter set that catches debris before it reaches the motor. This is typically located in the main tank area and should be washed every 3 months. Post-motor filter: The HEPA filter that cleans the air after it passes through the motor before it exits the vacuum. This should be washed every 12 months.

3 cats 1 dog 4 humans, carpet upstairs and laminate flooring downstairs
I love it, its heavy duty suction but lighter in weight than others, the lift away feature makes it so much easier for dusting and/or hard fo reach areas. There's an option to turn the brush roll off for bare floors and brush roll stays off in upright position so youre not putting extra stress on the belt and/or vacuum! I love that you can adjust suction level easily too! The only adjustment would be an easier way to get to the brush roll out to clean it but thats the only downside. It works really well for us!

Leaving my husband to marry a vacuum
I decided to read the negative reviews AFTER purchasing for entertainment. Do people not read the manual? The roller brush doesn’t lower or higher BUT there is a suction level adjustment so when vacuuming thick rugs you lower the suction. The burning smell? Means you assembled it wrong and the motor is working super hard to do something it can’t perform. The hose detaches and will suck your soul out of your body. It detaches from the handle not where old vacuums used to detach on the side. I used a cordless vacuum for 3 years. Knock off dyson, eureka brand. It’s amazing on the hard wood floors. I have 3 dogs and 2 cats so there’s always hair somewhere and I hate it but love animals. The cordless vacuum can’t do rugs at all. It doesn’t actually get the dirt or hair out. You need THIS This vacuum shook and sucked out everything. It’s actually terrifying how I thought I’ve been vacuuming my rugs for 3 years and I have in-fact NOT. I did my rug twice and each time the canister was full of more and more dirt and hair. It’s loud, it’s fast, it’s heavy, it’s perfect. I don’t know how many different endorphins, serotonin, and dopamine I boosted & released while using this product.

It is VERY hard to push
First of all let me start out by saying that I am a perfectionist. My kids will tell you, my husband will tell you and pretty much anyone who knows me will tell you that I when I pay good money for some thing I want it to work well. That with my hope with the shark navigator lift away. I have owned one of these in the past and I don’t remember much about it other than I wasn’t crazy about it Way back then and promised myself I would never buy another one and I didn’t for a long time up until now . I thought with all the Positive reviews and all of the new technology in recent years that the shark would live up to the reviews that it has here on Amazon. I was wrong or at least I think I was wrong. I literally just received the vacuum today. It’s also important to note that I have hardwood floors all throughout the downstairs of my 4500 square-foot home. All of the hardwood is covered with area rugs that are dark colors mainly because we built our house in 2005 and dark colors were in at that time. So, when we adopted two all White Rescue dogs, one of each one of which is very large and very hairy and sheds constantly, I never knew I would be vacuuming two and sometimes three times a day just to get rid of the hair. With that being said I needed a decent vacuum that could pick up pet hair easily and that is how this vacuum advertises itself. I now have three vacuums but most of the ones I bought in the past were disposable. If get a full year out of them that is a lot. I’m not talking about cheap 75 or $85.00 vacuums. I am talking about vacuums that are $175.00 or more. I noticed some that might not think that $ 200 is an expensive vacuum and I guess it isn’t compared to the vacuums like Dyson and the other $1000 plus vacuums but to me $200 is still a decent amount of money and for that price I should get a decent vacuum. My past three vacuums have all been Bissells. I bought my first one about three years ago and was very happy with it so when it konked out I continued to buy that brand. . I still think it’s a good vacuum for the price but they honestly don’t last more than a year at the most and I’m getting tired of doing nothing but buying vacuums every six months so I thought I would try The shark and give it another shot, especially after all of the good reviews it got on Amazon. I jus5 received it today. My husband took it out of the box and put it together in less than 5 minutes. I immediately tried to vacuum up the tons of white long-haired wired fur for that sticks into my area rugs from one of my rescues. In all honesty this brand new vacuum did not work much better than my one year-old Bissell vacuum, which was extremely annoying to me , but the thing that really irked me after opening it ( I did not know this before I bought it and probably would not have bought if had known) is that it doesn’t have a retractable cord. I can’t begin to tell you what a pain in the neck it is t wind up a cord especially one on a $200 vacuum. All of my Bissell’s have had retractable cords. I can’t understand why that is such a problem for shark because I’ve checked out pretty much all their brands and all of them have windable cords at least all the brands that have cords. . Anyway enough about the cord now let me talk to you about the vacuum itself. I think any brand new vacuum is gonna be great at picking up dog hair, after all it’s brand new. This one worked well but it was extremely hard to push on my area rugs. Also, at the end of the rugs where all the dog hair seems to gather, I had to push the vacuum at least three or four times to get up ALL the hair that accumulated there . It was very frustrating especially with how heavy this thing is to push!,, it’s not a Light back in by any means. When I read the reviews on Amazon, one reviewer said that the vacuum glides through their house !!! All I could think of is that they don’t have any rugs they’re vacuums and it’s gliding on hardwood because it definitely does not glide on area rugs !!! In fact I ended up with a backache after I just vacuumed only my kitchen and sunroom. The Bissel was also a hard to push vacuum with but again it’s a less expensive vacuum and It did the job so I never really complained about it. I’m still going to hold onto this vacuum because I do like the idea of being able to lift away the canister and vacuum the stairs which was definitely a pain with the Bissell. To try to lug it up the stairs and back down again when I was done. And I have a lot of stairs!! I will try to update my review After I’ve used the Shark everal more times I will let you know what I think but for now I am not overly impressed . it’s just my opinion . I guess it’s because I have a lot of continual dog hair that impedes itself in my rugs So it is probably a lot more for someone like me to vacuum than someone who doesn’t have any dogs or dogs that do not shed. Oh, yes there is one more thing I do you want to mention .The head on the vacuum is much smaller than the head of the vacuum on my Bissell But I don’t think that’s a bad thing because it does actually get more places that my Bissell could not reach but again as far as ease-of-use it is definitely not easy to use.

Amazing suction power
So far, we love everything about this vacuum. I'm blown away by the power/suction it has. Not only does it pick up everything off of a rug, but also wood and linoleum floors (which is what we have mostly) but we use those vacuum-seal bags to store off-season clothes and linens and it sucks so much more air out sooo quickly! Our old vacuum was so lame compared to this one. But we have a big rug and a runner, and probably getting more rugs later. I like the fact that you can take the small canister off and use the extension wand to clean corners and up above on the ceiling (we have fairly high ceilings). It's also very lightweight and doesn't take up a lot of space. It fits in a cupboard we bought to store it, that is 16"x16"x 6'. We've only had it for a month, but our son and his girlfriend bought the vacuum and I went to look at it before we ordered it and they've had it for a few months and have no complaints about it. I'm really happy we spent a little extra to get this one. We haven't used it a lot, so haven't had to empty the canister yet, but my son showed me how to do it and it looks like a breeze. The other thing, is that it does pull easier than push and we're vacuuming a .5" pile carpet. Of course on the wood/linoleum floors, no problems. The one thing I was not happy about is that I tried to call the Customer Service number 15 min. before their posted closing time and they were closed and when I sent them an email it bounced. I've not yet pursued that, but I will. My son said they had no problems with them when they discovered they were missing one of the brushes and it was sent to them.. We also didn't get the pet brush that was supposed to come with it, but we don't have any pets, so not an issue for us. Overall, I'd say that this is a great product and with the short time we've had it, we like it.

Absolute suction monster
First impression blow me away, I was actually shocked. I vacuumed this morning with my old eureka vacuum and received this new vacuum tonight did a test run and I tell you my old vacuum was absolutely useless, I could not believe the amount of dust this monster got out! I highly recommend this vacuum

Good for the price
Overall I'm happy with the vacuum as it's great for the price. Easy to empty and clean, and great suction that you can control. The carpet brush seems to have good power. The unit overall is light and easy to lift and manoeuver. One major con...because the unit is so light and the carpet cleaner isn't too wide, using the tube with attachments in almost any capacity more than 1 foot away will tip the vacuum or handheld unit over. Maybe the Shark hose is too stiff and doesn't extend well enough without pulling the entire machine. This gets extremely annoying if you vacuum frequntly with the crevice tool or duster. I'm comparing this to my dyson multi-floor 2 which is heavier and has rarely tipped while using the hose with attachments. However, I wouldn't fault the Shark as it's $500 cheaper. Also, I found it to be a challenge to purchase accessories for the NV352 through the canadian website. The current option seems to be to try and find them on Amazon or somewhere else or order from the US website and pay US$35 international shipping.
