Great little tool that makes installing fins on rocket tube infinitely easier.
Cheap and effective.I wish I had this when I was a kid. 90% of the time when I had a problem with model rockets as a kid it was because of fin alignment, and this goes a long way towards eliminating that problem with model rocket kits that need balsa wood fins attached to a cardboard tube.I have built several kits with my son and have had no problem with fin alignment. You still have to be careful, but this eliminates the guessing and trying to line up measurements on a curved surface so everything is straight and spaced evenly.

Works well
Great product.

Pretty good but you may need to do a little adjustment before use.
Seems to work well after you correct any misalignment of the fin holders and get a comfortable procedure applying the fins.I have two of these and one came with one of the fin positions causing the holder to lean to the left enough to misalign. There are two little strips of plastic molding along each of the fin placement paths on the base upon which the fin holders rest when installed. I took my xacto knife and shaved away some of the strip on the right of one position so the holder would tilt more right and it straightened right up.It's a little pricey for something that needs adjustment but I've now built 11 rockets on them and and am comfortable with the procedure of using them. Wish I'd had them 6 decades ago when I started building rockets.

Very helpful on installment of fins
This is a good jig for installing fins. I recommend using clothes pins instead of Estes clips that come with the jig. I just find it easier to to adjust the alignment.
User
a rocket builder's basic tool
Easy to use to insure that the fins are accurately placed.
User
nice but
this does help putting the fins on but their just a little bit warped, I gotta use toothpicks as shims
User
worth it
I was unsure how useful it would be based on some of the reviews, but I tried i immediately today on a Big Bertha very successfully. the technique is basically to let one fin set up first and then attach the others. not perfect, but does what it says. recommended if you build a lot of rocket kits.

A dad's best friend
Worked great to help align the fins and act as my 3rd and 4th hands
User
The four fin arrangement works great, but I seem to be on a 3 ...
I'd have given it a star or two more if one of the backets on the three fin arrangement wasn't loose. Causes these rockets to fly with bit of a wobble. The four fin arrangement works great, but I seem to be on a 3 fin kick.
