20 QT Portable Refrigerator

I am over all very satisfied with this cooler. Its compressor is small of course so it doesn't cool super fast, but it is reasonably quick for its size, which also makes it very portable. The digital thermometer/thermostat is quite accurate and can even be set to cool below freezing so be careful unless you don't mind your drinks being frozen. It cannot be set quite cold enough for ice cream, though, which requires temperatures a ways below freezing to stay solid, so be aware. (Some ice cream does okay at its lowest -8F setting, but not all.) But it works excellently to keep food and beverages nice and cold. Its 20-quart capacity is on the smaller end which again makes it nice and portable, but still easily holds 2x 2-liter soda bottles with a bit of room to spare, and there are larger models for those who need more storage space. The compressor is actually much more quiet than I expected, though of course it still makes a bit of noise it is hardly noticeable. Overall an excellent product and highly recommended.

Well I read all the reviews before I purchased one... mine arrived quickly, I followed the start up directions and connected it to my Jackery 500 battery and 80 watt solar panel. The cooler is amazingly quiet, I set the temp for 18° and after awhile the temp inside hovered around 20°-24°...so yes the thermostat is a little off but jeez you can just set it about 5° lower than what you want. It will freeze water but takes all day, however I’m using it too it keep steaks and hamburger and eggs and cheese, chicken and milk and bacon ice cold without worrying about water logging. This cooler is fabulous for keeping these things cold. Inside temp was set at 34 and the Jackery never got down past 60% battery life and that’s with an electric blanket running all night on low as well. During the day my Jackery battery charged up to 100% before afternoon arrived. I kept the solar panel attached all the time, the cooler chest only stays on for about 15 minutes every 45 minutes on Max cool. Even on cloudy days it charged up to 100% and I never felt nervous about running out of battery power...I could always plug it into the boat and not worry about low voltage drain because there are three settings on the ice chest to prevent battery damage due to low voltage. The meat and chicken were ice cold, I put the chicken in frozen and after two days it was still a little bit frozen to the point I had to let it thaw a while before we cooked it. I was able to put a dozen eggs, four chicken breasts, 4 t-bones, Two packages of bacon and two sticks of butter and two small cartons of milk and three packages of cheese and 2 pounds of hamburger with a little bit of room to spare but not much.This thing is extremely quiet and very efficient and really does keep things very cold, I bought the insulated jacket to go around it as well. It’s not a huge ice chest it’s only 20 quarts but I don’t have to worry about buying ice and having everything get water longed, it’s a wonderful ice chest and you will not be disappointed. I was not paid for this renew or reimbursed in anyway.

Received this cooler yesterday and let it sit for 12 hours as recommended. Got it rolling last night and hooked it up to my rockpals 300 Power station. Got the freezer settings working very well And had a bunch of things frozen solid by morning. I did find that the AC connections provided works better than the DC. The AC seems to allow the power station to power the cooler a lot longer than the DC. Since I only intend to use this cooler during a hurricane with my rockpals Power stations I could only speak for the AC power sources which would not be a wall source but a power station. Not to be confusing but these power stations deliver power Via AC or DC connections, You just have to have the appropriate wires which this cooler came with. This cooler freezer appears to have been made well and it’s relatively easy to carry and is attractive. The door seals very well End it is quiet. I am very happy with this unit so far but if you are going to use it at home when the power goes Out you will have to power it in your car or have an independent power station that has been previously charged , These units have no batteries themselves they need to be hooked up to a battery source. Which powers them but does not charge them. Like I said all I love this little guy so far it is just what I wanted. Also I don’t want to sound like I’m doing a commercial for rockpals Powerstations it just happens to be the one I have, there are several other companies that make these power stations also.

I got this, planning to use it while camping, in conjunction with a solar panel and a 160Wh battery. Since I'm going to be relying on it off the grid, I have been doing a bunch of testing to make sure that it will serve my needs. I have been testing it as a freezer only -- its performance as a refrigerator will certainly be different (and better!) First, a little nitpicky thing: the rubber seal over the USB port is completely inadequate. It doesn't seal (or even completely seat) at all. Because I don't want to risk debris or liquids getting into the port, I've just taped over the entire thing (I don't need to use it). This can easily keep things frozen -- but it's not great at freezing things that aren't! When trying to freeze a large freezer pack, it managed to get the pack down to about 3C without trouble, but below that, it starts to take a very, very long time (days). It is best used as a long-term sort of freezer: if you take something out of it and it warms up too much, you're much better off not putting it back in. I am able to get it down to -21C. The temperature readout indicates a lower temperature than it actually reaches, by about 5C. I haven't yet tested how long it can keep temperature when it's not being powered, but it seems like it will reasonably well -- I think it's a little worse than a good cooler on this count. I think that if you get the thermal cover to go with it, it will probably outperform a good cooler. That's just my expectation. I haven't tested it. I tested how long I can run it on the battery I'm using, with it set to -21C and to -10C (using a 160Wh battery, discharging it down to 10%), and with nothing at all in the cold chamber. At -21C, I can run it for about 6.5 hours. At -10C, I can run it for about 10.5 hours. These numbers don't change between "eco" and "max" modes. "Eco" mode does make the fridge use about half as much power as "max", but the compressor runs for about twice as long. If you're using this in a setup where you can't draw more than 30W or so, "eco" is your friend. Otherwise, it doesn't seem to matter much. Testing with it full of food is a completely different matter. My whole life, I've been told that any fridge/freezer is more energy efficient when its full, but I didn't realize how much of a difference this makes. When full of already frozen food, it can maintain that temperature for about twice as long on a charge. I really like this refrigerator a lot, and I think it will meet my needs easily. I can recommend it without hesitation, but think that expectations need to be adjusted: this is not like your home freezer, and performs poorly if you're freezing something that wasn't already frozen. However, as long as you can pre-chill the things you put into it, this performs excellently.

We bought this refrigerated cooler to use in an off grid cabin. It was powered with a Suaoki 400 WH portable solar generator I've had for a couple of years. The cooler worked GREAT. It kept things cold exactly as advertised. If you plan to use off grid, here are some things I found that improved performance. We were recharging the 400 WH battery with two 100 W solar panels. On sunny days the panels generated enough extra power to run the cooler and recharge the battery. The battery then had more than enough reserve to run through the night. However, the cooler was the only thing it could power. I did recharge a phone once in a while from the battery during daylight hours, but if you want to use the battery for more than just the cooler, you'll want more than 400 WH capacity. To reduce the amount of running time and battery draw, I raised the cooler temp to 42 at night, then lowered it back to 38 in the morning. I did buy the insulated bag and I threw a folded sleeping bag over the top to keep the sun off. I didn't do any testing to see if it ran more without the insulated bag. The insulated bag seems a little loose, so I'm skeptical as to how much insulating it's really doing. Couple of other thoughts. The size was okay. I'm glad I didn't get the smallest one. Some things have to be loaded at an angle, like a half gallon of milk. If I were to do it again, I'd probably get the next size up. The other benefit of owning this is that when we have family gatherings, I don't have to run out for bags of ice. Overall it's been a good purchase so far.

I bought this for a 4 day camping trip to the woods of Maine. It was loaded with food including salmon. The temp was set around 26-28 degrees. It seemed to have no trouble getting to 31-32 but never got lower. I decided to put a ziplock with ice in there and it easily got down to as low as 22. It stayed there the entire trip. So keep that trick in mind. Ice pack works too. Size: it fits a lot of stuff. No issues here. Plugs: comes with power cord for regular home type hook up and a car cigarette lighter style cord. I used the car one the entire time. It is a long cord so I could really place it where I wanted in back of SUV. Power use: I had this hooked up for the entire trip using the cigarette lighter cord. The cooler has a battery meter to show what it is using power wise. At one point it showed an error E1 message which means it was using too much of the car battery and shut itself off. Cooler kept it’s temp nicely and once I fired car up the cooler went back to normal operation. I turned car off 5 minutes later and it continued on as normal. Final word: this could be run off a solar panel or whatever and barely use power. It manages the draw perfectly and performs well. It did need help getting under 30 so some concern on freezing items in it. However, if you put ice packs in to help it at first I have little doubt it would hold the temp. A- for grade and a full recommendation from me.

That's the refrigerator freezer on the market not sure why they're not making it anymore hopefully they start making it again

We purchased this for our trip this fall to the National Parks in Wyoming, South Dakota, Montana, Utah and Colorado. We made most of our food (black bean burgers, vegetable lasagna, cooked pasta, muffins, and cookies) froze them, then vacuumed sealed them (not the muffins or cookies), prior to traveling. We set the temperature setting to minus 8 degrees and it kept the inside temperature to below zero. If we were hiking and the car was turned off for long periods of time, we would remote start the car occasionally to keep the freezer temp cold. We did not run the freezer off the battery while the car was not running. We were very happy with the size of the freezer and the amount of food it held. We stayed in cabins and hotel rooms during our trip, so it was moved a lot over the course of our trip. It was not too heavy, even with it being filled to move around. The only time it was difficult was when we stayed at East Glacier Park Lodge, we were on the third floor and there were no elevators. We also use it when we get groceries and need to keep some items cold or frozen if we are not going straight home. The reason I gave the temperature control a rating of 4 is because the temperature on our digital thermometer which we placed inside the freezer to double check the LED readout setting was not consistent. Sometimes there was a difference up to 8 degrees. My only complaint was the shipping from the facility. It was delayed several times and not shipped as Prime initially promised. We actually cancelled the order because delivery was delayed so many times and was out of town when we were to receive the order. We reordered when we returned and had still delays again but did receive it in time for our trip out west. We are very happy with the unit and would recommend it for traveling.

Bought this for road trips after wishing I had one for my last road trip. For the last several days in the meantime it's been supplying me with icy cold drinks next to my desk. I love this thing. No issues setting it up. I let it stand for 12 hours to allow the compressor to settle, then powered it up, set it to 2C (colder than my fridge) and threw a bunch of already cold drinks in it, which allowed it to reach 2C in around 25 minutes. Runs very quiet. I haven't noticed any temperature difference between the top and bottom of the cooler but I haven't measured it. Every drink feels the same icy cold temperature regardless of where they're located in the cooler. I noticed some photos of the interior posted in reviews here show a sort of fabric interior with a seam running down the inside but the one I got had a seamless solid plastic interior. Was quite happy about that. This thing is going to be fantastic for road trips. Can't wait.

We got his fridge for our Tesla Model Y and it fits neatly into the sub-frunk and keeps whatever you put into it at temperature. Negligible battery usage for road trips. Even for picnics, it's neat to have a fridge with you at all times. Quality wise it's good, too. This firdge fell off our dolly twice when taking it for a picnic and took quite a tumble, but it worked as though nothing happened (although we did get the bag that is sold separately for it, which is padded).

This is so quiet and light for what it is. It does everything as advertised with lots of space inside as you can see in the photos. The temperature is very accurate +/- 1°C. Plus the price is fantastic (I bought it with a $100 discount from Amazon list price). Highly recommended!

Generally good product. However, no great surprise that ambient temperature impacts efficiency somewhat. Daytime weather has been HOT. Compresser works fairly hard during the heat of the day but operates great during the night/early morning. Maybe the insulated cover (has to be purchased separately) will improve the situation.

Bought this portable fridge for future camping and road trips. I got the cover with this fridge for ease of transport and improving the insulation efficiency. It fits in the subtrunk well enough of my Tesla M3 SR+; it sticks up slightly, perhaps about 0.5cm up, but it's hardly noticeable. I tested it overnight with camping mode (AC off, fan on low) at home and it only drained about 1%. So I estimate about 2-3% battery drain rate per 24hours with camping mode; perfect for our local camping trip for a few days. Not sure on longevity, but so far, it works really well and kept my items cold/frozen. Will update this review if things change in the future.
