Easy to use
I’ve used these for years. I’m not sure if they’re totally accurate? Comparing them to dip strip- they usually show a different reading? Other posts state sunlight can affect the readings…???

Test strips by the hundreds.
I purchased these test strips because they're a hundred count bottle of test strips. I like to dip the strips down into the spa water, up to the middle of the forearm. I swirl the strips around in the water for a couple of seconds and when I pull the strip out of the water hit the test button, flick my arm and strip a couple of times and quickly place the test strip into the reader. I keep a cotton tip swab at the ready to pre-clean the colorimeter glass before dipping the test strip in the spa. I place the test strip in the reader slot and hold the test strip in place with the cotton swab laying the length of the test strip. I take three readings so I can get a trend line for the spa water chemistry. Overall, when tests are done in this fashion, you'll need a boatload of test strips and the more you test your water, the more you'll need this product for the convenience having so many strips provides. Also, buying large numbers of test strips like this, if you have to pay for postage you'll save by having to make less purchases. This is a good thing. Hope the above helps.

Consistent Results
These test strips provide relatively consistent results when used with the AquaChek TruTest Digital Test Strip Reader. It eliminates the effect of personal bias and the effect of background illumination. I highly recommend these test strips for measuring free chlorine, pH and alkalinity in your swimming pool.

Inconsistent readings
Chlorine seems to be fairly consistent, but the ph and alkalinity are all over the place. Example I tested for ph and it read 8.0 and 5 minutes later another strip read 6.9!!!!! Same inconsistency with alkalinity.

I wonder about the accuracy
The idea is simple enough but readings can vary wildly between two sticks (the two readings are taken close together to confirm a suspiciously high - or low - reading. Follow the instructions carefully - do not slide the stick into the slot - and read out of strong sunlight or use the light shield. Problems seem to be caused by a patchy colour density on the strips, the reading depending on the precise area the meter reads. When the readings have appeared inherently unlikely, I have gone back to the old methods which depend on the use of the human eye, and these have invariably proved the more believable. This is a pity. It is much faster than tablets and colour charts and potentially more accurate than test tapes using the eye and colour comparisons, which are as fast but less accurate than the tablets. I suspect the active reagents/indicator are not always distributed as evenly as they should be over the test area, which I would guess is a matter of quality control. Given the cost of the meter and bottles of strips, I would have expected better quality. You also have to watch the expiry date of the strips, which might be quite short if they have been at the retailers for some time.
