Fisher-Price Baby Bouncer Pink Petals Jumperoo Musical Activity Center with Lights Sounds & Developmental Toys

When my oldest daughter was a young baby, she had very bowed legs that required my doing specific exercises with her, special orthopedic shoes, and a Johnny Jump Up (recommended by her pediatrician). My granddaughter's legs are not as bowed, but I felt as though she also needed time in some type of jumping toy. I had read the warnings about jumping toys, and do agree that some harm can come from using them inappropriately. For me, it is a question of how long the baby is allowed to jump or sit in the jumperoo. Some babies enjoy them so much that parents allow the baby to spend too much time in them. We don't. I had considered purchasing today's versions of the Johnny Jump Up, but have no door frames in the areas that would be used. So, I researched all the jumping options. The Fisher Price Rain Forest Jumperoo had consistently good reviews, even better than the reviews for its newer replacement. Although not inexpensive, it was competitively priced. My daughter likes Fisher Price, so I knew she would be happy with us choosing that brand. She is! My 5 month old granddaughter loves it so much that we do have to watch the clock closely to ensure she is not in it for too long. I can't compare this jumperoo to other jumperoos since it is the only one we purchased. I can say that it was not extremely difficult to put together, is enjoyed by our granddaughter, and does have the nice feature of something behind her head to help support it (that we couldn't find in other models). It is slightly larger than I expected, but still smaller than most of the other models we've seen. We are very pleased with our purchase. Update 10/29/11 -- my granddaughter is now over 1 year old and has outgrown the jumperoo. We took it down with great sadness because she absolutely loves it. It was one of the very best purchases we made for her. I noticed the price had dropped from when we bought it, so it is even a better buy now!

My son started using this jumper when he turned 4 months old. HE ABSOLUTELY LOVES IT! When I'm leaning down to put him into the jumper, he already starts "jumping" his legs. He's not very tall, when we first started using the jumper he was around 25", now he's at 25.5" and the Level 1 height is perfect for him! He will stay in his jumper for up to an hour, sometimes a little more, jumping nonstop and playing with the toys! In this video he is 4 months and about 1 week, and this is only his third time using the jumper! He's always had strong legs, and this is perfect for him. The toys attached to the jumper, while not exactly exciting, they do keep him entertained while he's in the jumper. So far he hasn't figured out how to turn himself around the 360 degrees, so he only plays with the elephant toy bar part. He does try and look at the toys hanging from the leaves above him as well. We have it set so that the sounds and lights go off when he jumps, which means its going off pretty much the entire time he's in there. He doesn't seem to mind if the sounds/lights are even on though, so we don't always use it. We were trying to decide between this jumper and the Baby Einstein jumper. We decided on this one because a lot of the reviews said that it was easier to jump in, and the springs were "springier" and jumping was easier. I have to say, I'm very pleased with the decision. He tried out the Baby Einstein Musical Motion Activity Jumper, Blue at a friend's house a few days ago, and didn't get nearly the amount of jumping action that he gets on this one. We also have the Fisher-Price SpaceSaver Bounce 'n Spin Froggy , and I definitely wouldn't recommend that one. He hasn't even figured out that it jumps, mostly because his feet barely touch the ground, and it is extremely stiff and difficult to jump on. Also, the toys are hard to reach, and only kept him entertained for 10 minutes at most, which is why I almost didn't buy this jumper. Very happy I did! My friend went out and bought her daughter (also 4 months) the same jumper as soon as she saw this video, and she loves it as well. It was very simple to put together luckily, since the directions were kind of confusing to figure out, especially how to put the seat cover on. Its very sturdy, as you can see from the video, my son goes crazy on it sometimes and it holds up just fine. We've had it for about 3 weeks now, don't know what we ever did without it! Its saved my sanity since my son is very active, and now I can actually get some stuff done!

I got the jumparoo for my son when he was about 4.5 months old. i knew he was ready for either a jumperoo or exersaucer because he was constantly kicking his legs and always wanted to stand (assisted, of course). i'm so glad i chose the jumparoo! we've had it for a month now and it has been a great toy for him! he loves stretching his little legs out and it only took him a few days to figure out how to jump...he has so much fun bouncing up and down pros: i love that it has two music levels, so that the music can run continuously (which is good for him now since he doesn't understand cause and effect yet) or only go when he jumps or plays with the toys (will be great for when he's a bit older). i also love all the colorful toys - he especially loves the blue firefly (or whatever it is lol) on the side and the yellow monkey. i know PPs said the blue elephant was useless because it's backwards, but my son still seems interested in it...he tries to eat its ears. when he gets tired of the main toys on the front, i love that i can just twist him around to the sunshine globe/peeping lion side, or the blue lizard. it's like a whole new toy and keeps him entertained for awhile. the two hanging birds up top are pretty useless right now, but maybe when he's a bit older he'll spend more time gazing up at them? eh i guess they're just decoration... this toy is also helping him to become a bit more independent. he likes to be held a lot (what baby doesn't? lol) but more and more i can let him play in the jumparoo and have some breakfast, do some cleaning, or check my email for a bit. its a nice alternative to his bouncy chair or swing, which don't offer as much entertainment. cons: the only bad side is that it seems built for a pretty tall baby. my son is in the 75th% for height and still needs a folded blanket under his feet on level 1. not a huge burden, just seems weird. all in all, this is a great investment for an infant starting around 4 months. definitely worth the cost (i probably would have paid more!) i would recommend it!

I bought this because I have had positive experiences with the Fisher Price before, and it delivered again. I have had this toy for close to a month now and this is what I have noticed so far: - Price: I felt that the price for this toy is a good value, considering the brand and the weight and history of excellence behind it. This toy did not feel expensive, and it has already given me my money's worth in smiles and giggles from my little boy. - Construction: it is solid enough. Even though one of the hanging toys comes loose at the slightest touch, the rest of the toy is pretty solid. The plastic is sturdy, and has been able to take on the challenge of a highly active five-month old baby. - Ease of use: the toy assembled fast and has remained solidly in place since then. I often have to remove the seat to clean it, and it has always been a breeze. The bouncer has a multitude of toys that the little one (and some of us adults as well) can enjoy for long periods of time. Overall, I don't think you can go wrong with this toy. Are there cheaper prices out there? Sure there are, but this one combines quality, ease if use, and the backing of an established brand. If you are looking for a toy for your baby to have fun, but also to begin the process of strengthening his/her legs, look no further than this.

We have an active baby that really likes to stand, tries to walk when held, and always wants to be on the move -- it can be exhausting. From reviews I read, the Jumperoo seemed like a great toy to provide excercise and fun for the baby (and a short break for Mom & Dad). The long awaited Rainforest Jumperoo finally came about a week ago! Since we had pre-ordered from Amazon in November anticipating a Christmas gift, we were disappointed that there were delays and it was not expected 'til well after the holidays. In the meantime, my 3 month old son was anxious to move and had lots of energy, so I bought the Deluxe Jumperoo at a local retailer about 4 weeks ago. He liked it, but seemed to get bored quickly with the toys and would use it just a few minutes each day. Some of the key differences with the Rainforest Jumperoo: - The seat rotates 360 degrees and there are toys all around it, so there is always something new to look at -- and he can change his view of the room by himself (he's just starting to turn in it on his own). - There are animals hanging above his head from the "leaves" and the baby loves to look at them and sometimes jumps to try and reach them. - The music & sounds are pretty cool...like they would play at a carribean restaurant. The Deluxe music was okay, but the "boinging" noises (although fun at first) got annoying pretty quickly. - The format is round versus the old A-frame style -- although I feared it would take up even more space, it actually looks less obtrusive and fits in the room better. It's easier to get by and doesn't trip you! - There are three hanging springs (versus four) which seems to offer more mobility and freedom of movement. Sometimes he just sways around. - Now nearly 4 months old, our son will spend happy stretches of 20-30+ minutes multiple times a day in the Rainforest version. Less than a week ago, he would spend about 15 minutes a day in the Deluxe version. - The Rainforest version is attractive and seems well made in comparison to the "Deluxe". It has thoughtful design details -- like the tree frog seat and the silky green tie-dyed fabric under the hanging leaves. - It appears that when folded it will take less space than the Deluxe -- which is pretty awkward when folded. - If your decor is more subtle, the Rainforest Jumperoo will probably fit in better than the vibrant blue painted frame of the Deluxe version. Suggested changes: - More opions for the height of the seat -- this seems like an easy change the manufacturer could make that would be helpful. My son is pretty tall for his age, but between a "1" and a "2". So his feet are flat on the ground at level 1, and don't quite reach at level 2. This means he stands and sort of walks to get slight bouncing -- versus actually jumping (the toes are supposed to touch but not have feet flat on floor for optimal jumping). - I would like some sort of storage option (like a vinyl bag it would fit into) to take to another room, store it for company, etc. Overall, the Rainforest version was a little more expensive than the Deluxe, but in my view, well worth it. The differences are more than cosmetic, and our son really does seem to enjoy it more than than the Deluxe (which is on it's way to Grandma's today).

I spent a long time researching and reading reviews on different jumpers. My 7&8 year olds had them, but it’s been a while... the jumpers on the market today aren’t half as good as they were. They’re more cheaply made but the same price or more expensive. I read many reviews of different jumpers falling on children, children hurting themselves In them, etc. I was getting very discouraged and then I found this.after reading many reviews I decided to order and I am glad I did. My daughter is almost 7 months old and very petite. She does fit and is able to jump. The different settings for height are very helpful . The activities are cute, I was hoping for a little more out of the music than just the same animal sounds but that’s ok, the seat is sturdy and seems comfortable, it rotates easily, and there are a variety of things to keep her busy. The rainforest theme is very cute. I love the little tiger who plays peek a boo and the canopy leaves with toys on them. I don’t quite understand why this one is, in some cases significantly more than other similar jumpers, it seems to have similar features to many. However this one is safe and well made so I’d rather put the extra money out knowing my baby is safe in there. She is at the perfect age to be exploring all of this so it’s great for her. She seems to love it, except when she cries when you put her in... lol. She’s a “hold me all the time” baby so it will get easier the more we use it. I would recommend this jumper to anyone in search of one.

My baby is 5 months old and absolutely adores this toy. She also has a Mamaroo, a Swing, a Kick Play Piano, and a Rainforest Activity Mat, but had reached a point where she tired of lying on her back or rolling/scooting all day so she fussed and spent a great deal of time standing in my lap. I love holding her and am totally cool with this, but I started to feel like she was being deprived of developmental exercises and stimulation so I looked into exersaucers and bouncers and ultimately chose this based on the review. She took to it immediately, jumps all the time, slaps at all of the toys, and is endlessly entertained. It gives her the exercise and sense of independence she craved and makes her so happy. I am able to do the laundry or dishes now while she plays and chatters, which is also nice. She does take slightly longer naps and eat a little more, but she's burning calories so that's expected! I did give it 4 stars instead of 5 and that is because the sunshine piece does not stay snapped into the unit and while she is bouncing vigorously, it frequently pops off and lands on the floor. It is simple to reinstall but once popped off as she bounced upward and flipped in the air and hit her on the forehead, leaving a small red mark for an hour or so. She wasn't upset and it didn't "hurt" her but for a smaller baby, like she once was, it could. Then again if she were still that small she might not be bouncing as hard. Either way, this part should snap into place and not just slide in for the safety of babies. I still recommend the product and would buy it again.

I bought a "Jenny-Jump-Up" (it hooks onto the molding of your doorway), but found out that the hook wouldn't fit onto any of the doorways (my fault, I live in an older house with huge molding) and it was sort of inconvenient to always try and find a doorway since not a lot of my household activities were close to one. I know the Fisher-Price Jumperoo is expensive and I argued back and forth as to whether or not it was even worth the money, but after finally deciding to purchase it I can say that I'm very satisfied. I'm not rolling in the dough, either, so this was a major splurge for my third daughter (and I wish I'd bought it for the first so that I could have handed it down from the first to the second and from the second to the third, getting good use out of it). Pros: Less expensive activity gyms don't bounce, and this one sure does. It can take the abuse of my 6 month old when all she wants to do for hours is bounce (and I don't have the arm strength to bounce her on my lap all day!) You don't have to worry about sizing. My tiny little 10 pounder can fit into it nicely and it will eventually adapt for a much larger child (my second daughter is a chunk and she still gets some use out of this). It comes with a warranty for broken pieces. Things break, that's just the way life is, and it's nice to know I can send for replacement parts if I need to. You can send Fisher-Price your email and they will let you know instantly if something is recalled or has an excess of broken parts. It comes with little activity toys, but you can take them off if you don't like them. It comes with music and lights, but you don't have to turn them on if you aren't into that kind of thing. It's very adaptable to what YOU want from it. It has the ability to fold and transport from room to room. Cons: It's a little pricey. Like I said before, I'm not rich (I get most of my things second hand or for free from friends that have older children), but if I had to spend a large amount of money on only one thing in the first three years of my daughter's life, it would be this! My 6 month old love to bounce in it (and believe it or not, she actually plays with the activity toys! I didn't think she would, but she spins the little sun around and fiddles with the parrot), it can be moved to any room, and it will fit her for the next few years. In my opinion, it's very much worth it!
