My mother in law use to bring this from California my husband love this so now we can purchase .

I was expecting the good old Gallo Dry Salame with the white fungal coating, which is dry and hard. What I got is the usual crap that is damp and wet an tastes like crap! I am so disappointed how they have so badly lowered the quality of their product that I will never buy it again!

I think what makes or breaks this product is the temp outside when it's delivered. And yes other reviews placed well before this one also mention that. I should have listened, but didn't. I absolutely love this brand of salami. In fact it's the only brand I'll buy anymore. The flavor, consistency, everything about it is perfect and I've never had another brand that even came close. It was supposed to be cooled off here (I assumed for the year) when I ordered but the weather forecast thing changed the very next day. Was in the mail truck for one full day at near-90 F heat. Got it around 9AM the next morning so not that bad all in all. But it definitely did detract. It sat in the fridge all day after it got here. I finally opened in around 10 hours later, to find it was a little soft, and fat had leaked out all over it. Still 2 months to expiration so I figured I wouldn't die by tasting it a little, so cut some pieces off. This chub did not have the white wrapper, which I very much miss. Was a little difficult to cut, being soft, and the chunks of fat in it kept getting stuck on the knife with the end result of every cut piece being covered in chunks of fat. Some of you may not mind that but I really don't like fat, so, eh. I gotta say though, it tasted fine, if a little soft. The taste honestly makes up for almost everything. Just, next time I'm definitely waiting for winter to have it shipped.

Gift for someone who was missing this taste of home. Recipient was thrilled. Okay for a treat, but a bit on the expensive side for the size.

Everyone is complaining about the white coating but it still taste the same I was born in California and we moved away when I was 11 and I now Live in Oklahoma been here for almost 30 years we don’t have gallo salami here so when I go visit my family in California the first thing I do is go looking for gallo salami it still reminds me of my childhood.

Can’t find this in any store anymore. Got this from Amazon. Dry Salami used to come with paper wrapped product, that you had to peel away. This had none and had a slimy cover. All gone, didn’t kill us????

We love this brand of Stick Salami. We can not find it in our local stores any more. It arrived on time and is very fresh! Thank you
