Good Value but Not a Good Fit for My Hand
These scissors seem to be well made and good value for the price. Very sharp and come with a bit of lubricating oil to prevent rust. I returned them because they were not a good ergonomic fit in my hand. I make the following comments realizing that if these things are important I should probably be willing to spend more $$. They seem a bit heavier than I would expect; this does give a feel of sturdiness, though. The blades are rather wide for getting between close branches, etc. though that too is part of the sturdiness. Because of the weight and poor fit for my hand they seem poorly balanced - for a different (larger?) hand this might not matter and make them good for heavier branches and other tasks. I gave 4 stars despite them not working out for me and appreciate the free return process.

Very good value, authentic Japanese carbon steel scissors.
This surpassed all my expectations. If you’re thinking of getting a pair of bonsai scissors and don’t want to spend $50 on the big brands like kikuwa and kaneshin, this is great bang for your buck. I translated the packaging and confirm they’re made in Japan. Japanese have the best steel so this will stay sharp for a long time. Just make sure to dry them if they get wet, as all carbon steel is susceptible to rust. Very impressed! You can also tell they’re well made because the tips of the scissors cross over each other which is the sign of quality bonsai scissors.

Beautiful bonsai shears
Very sturdy, would be surprised if it does not hold up for a long time. Also quite sharp. Other comments mentioned the mechanism holding the shears together was quite loose. Mine are fitted perfectly, surely there will be some outliers in the manufacturing process, but these particular pair are great!

Instant Family Heirloom
Japanese make perfect pruners for plants and especially bonsai where the miniature trees were invented. My family has an old pair that's been in our family from before I can remember. I use my new pair for close up pruning like violets and other small indoor plants. Now I have my own pair, made in Japan, that I will be handing down to my son.

Really SHARP scissors, super clean cuts no bruising or crushing.
This is a menacingly sharp cutting scissor. They are very heavy duty looking, and quite easy to use with the very large grips for even gloved hands. I love the traditional Chinese scissor design, which helps to get the maximum leverage and grip, which still looking graceful and stylish. They are also pretty light weight as well. I will say that you do have to be careful with rust as these are carbon steel scissors. They are also super pointed and super sharp, which mean handle with care. These scissors can easy snag on anything due to the extremely sharp and pointed tip and that they have a slight over bite. The two cutting edges will overlap at the tip to make sure they made a clean cut.

I bought these for my Mom for Mother's Day. She loves to pick and arrange flowers. I like them so much I will probably get myself a pair soon. She enjoys them, they are sturdy. They need to cleaned after usage, and my Dad oils them for her. Very nice product if you can take care of them.
