Review: Great product, easy to use. - Just installed. No issues, create a much better connection then cheap connecters that originally were on my lights. Not cheap, but well worth the price if you do not want to deal with ongoing issues and digging up your wiring every 1-2 years for repair. Review: love these - Sooo much better than the clip together style connectors that landscape lighting comes with. I've rebuilt a lot of old low voltage lights and was looking for a lower cost alternative because replacing the clip-ons were costing around $5 each. I bought these not really understanding how they work but now these are my standard. They're less expensive (even considering 2 are required per light) and the connection is a LOT more consistent and secure. The clip together connectors seem finicky and fragile now that I've tried this kind. I'm not sure about weather proofness, but they've seen rain plenty and my lights all work as normal. The only 'down' side, if you can call it that, is that connecting them to power takes a little longer than the clip together kind....but again the connection is so much more secure that I don't mind it one bit.

No instructions - works well once you figure it out
The photo you see online are the only instructions you will get. They are shipped in a clear plastic ziplock, no instructions and can't find instructions anywhere online. First you should know that you require 2 of these for each light fixture so make sure you order enough. That makes these pretty expensive. To install them you unscrew the small end and push the raw wire from your fixture into it so it touches the metal. Screw the cap on and it makes a secure connection. you need to do this to each wire (red and black) separately using two of the connectors per light To connect to the lead wire that you run between fixtures you unscrew the other larger end. split the lead wire down the middle with a razor and box cutter. clamp one of these to each side of the lead wire. I was surprised it worked but it did. it does not require any cutting or striping which makes it super easy to install (once you figure it out)

Great Idea
So these little connectors are great. I followed the instructions and separated the wire and squeezed with a plier. The end slipped over my 12 awg wire easily. The connection to the fixture pigtail was a little more awkward as I found it best to push the wire into the connector and turn at the same time. Otherwise the wire some time would slip out. I was using a smaller wire so that could have had something to do with it. There was a torrential downpour after I installed and all of the lights appeared to continue working. I had other fixtures with bulkier connectors and these seem like a better option. If I ever need to replace a light I can just unscrew the top portion and not mess with the connection to the main low voltage run. I agree they are a little pricey but I think they are worth it. 8/16/19 So I had to replace all the lights I installed with theses because a lightning strike destroyed them. As expected just had to unscrew them and put the new wire in and screw back down. Incredibly easy to reinstall

Best connectors
I've tried all types of connectors for low voltage lighting including the standard Malibu and Fastlock (screws together). The Modtek are the best. Yes, they cost more, but they are quick, easy to use and the most secure connection that I've experienced. They eliminate the intermittent/failed connections associated with other connectors. They are one of the few that work well with 12 gauge wire. For best results separate the wire (underground lead) into 2 sections by cutting it down the center (don't cut the wire - just separate the 2 halves). Then attach one Modtek connector to each side and you are all set.

Incredibly easy to use
I have struggled with the other types of connectors for low-voltage lights. So much frustration trying to find the sweet spot when snapping the alligator clips, only to have the connection get lost when burying the connector or just during the passage of time. Connecting a light now takes about 30 seconds, with most of that time splitting the power line and stripping a bit of wire. The connectors themselves require no tools, no skills; just being able to turn a cap. They are very secure and I do not feel that they will disconnect over time. I was so emboldened by these connectors that I tried re-installing older lights that I thought were dead. Nope, it was the crappy alligator connectors. I replaced them with these, and those old lights popped right on.

Works good but pricey
The connectors worked very well and were simple to install. Be careful because the parts are small and you can easily lose them in your landscaping when dropped. I think they are overpriced considering that it takes two/light which is about $3/light for these little pieces of plastic!

Worked great
It’s unfortunate we needed these because the connectors that came with the Hampton Bay low voltage lighting set we purchased were very poor quality, and most of them broke when my husband attempted to connect them. (He’s an electrician and has installed numerous sets in previous homes, so he knew what he was doing!) I found these on Amazon and they solved the problem. We had already dug the light fixtures into the ground, and didn’t want to have to pull them all out and return the set to Home Depot, and start over. These connectors are a little pricey, but very good quality. Thanks Amazon!!
