Why is this oil so cheap? I was always taught to believe that authentic oil was expensive to produce. Is it because it's adulterated?

Very good olive oil however even with being wrapped in bubble wrap in a larger box with extra paper padding the can still arrived dented which leaves me to believe that the can was in this dented state before it was put in the shipping packaging. For the price that has been increasing Amazon should do better than this.
