Will the gate lock everytime it closes Requiring the key to open it each time or will it just lock when turned in the lock potion?

The gate has two locking functions. First is regular operation where the magnet catch “locks” the latch. To open, one pulls the release handle to open. Second locking function is with key where one uses the key. (We have never used this function, incidentally.) Normal operation for us is to use the first; this doesn’t require using a key.

Will this latch work on a wood gate?

Will this work on chain link fence gate?

I don't think they are designed for round posts. We have square posts and looks like is the only type fence it will fit. If Trident has one for round posts it probably is a good product.

Is this a self closing latch or do you have to physically push it closed everytime?

The latch will catch when closed. Latches are not self closing. You would need self closing hinges or a gate spring to close the gate.

Super Easy to install and works excellent . We had these installed on our fence and due to a tree falling we had to replace them. Very Pleased with the easy of installation. A must have for an owner of a pool. Can just use the latch to keep younger kids out (due to the height) but really like the key-lock option when we are out of town
