1983 F150 302 sat for three years. Idle good but no power and unable to set timing. Distributor, ICM, trimming chaincoil ???? For the price of a coil cap and rotor I replace with the HEI distributor and eliminated all the parts above except a timing chain. Would have done it just to cleanup the engine compartment. Install is simple if you follow instructions it hard to go wrong. Truck runs great.

Works great for what I needed for my Mustang

The product functions as it should and starts up on time, have not had mechanical issues although a little tricky when dropping it on the oil slump. However the downside is it is tending to leak and the stock retainer for the distributor on the block does not sit well as this is a hefty distributor. The size also affects the fuel line to the carburetor but this was easy to fix. Overall recommend this for anyone cleaning up the engine and getting the ignition to start better with electronic instead of points.

I purchased this item in April 2025 and by June the diaphragm in the vacuum advance canister completely stopped working and wont hold any vacuum. Making it worthless…👎🏼Update: I initially gave this a 1 star review based on the short lifespan of the product. However, A-Team Performance Parts reached out to me and offered a full refund. Which to me is a response of a 5-star company. So I am editing my review to 5 stars.

Ignition module failed after 15 minutes. Replaced with a Standard Motor products brand. After replacing ignition module it ran but died again. This time the pick up coil failed. If you try to replace the pick up coil with a Standard Motor Products brand the reluctor on distributor shaft hits the magnet teeth. All these distributors sold on Amazon and Ebay appear to be absolute junk. I have tried 3 from 3 different sellers. All failed in one way or another.

I love this distributor, I put this on a non HO 302 which was sitting for years. After a few tries and adjusting the timing, it fired right up. The biggest advantage is the wiring. Only 1 wire coming off the distributor goes to the + terminal on the battery. Completely eliminates the stupid bulky ignition control module that ford used on old engine
