VERMONT SOAP Organic Pet Shampoo, Original Citrus Natural Dog Shampoo, 16oz

I've tried 10-15 dog shampoos. Either they make my dogs smell like rotten eggs (we have well water, and I think some of them mix poorly with the water), or my dogs smell like fake chemical fragrance. Even with the "natural ones". NOT THIS ONE! This one has a slightly strong smell AT FIRST before you use it. Straight from the bottle when I smelled it, I wasn't sure because it smelled strongly like essential oils. But it didn't smell like chemicals or fake fragrance, and my dogs really needed a bath, so I gave it a try. I diluted it greatly... about 10 parts water, 1 part soap. I do this in a squeeze bottle. It made my dogs smell ever so slightly when they dried, in a very good way, and made them soft and clean. Rinsed out easily. For my two 55 lb Goldens this bottle will last about 6-7 washes (so... 12-14 washes for one dog). Not bad! And the ingredients are so good. 😊

Gypsy has short hair, but that doesn’t prevent her from getting dirty. As seen above, after a romp in the wet yard, even the cutest dogs need a bath. Finally, I have found a shampoo that doesn’t have harsh chemicals, fragrances, or worrisome additives like EDTA. This shampoo doesn’t irritate her skin, has high-quality ingredients, lathers well, and rinses wonderfully leaving a light scent, but most importantly, a clean dog! My one word of caution is this stuff is very liquid and flows out quickly, so be careful when you go to pour it. With Gypsy being a 25lb Boston, this size bottle should last us for several months of bathing bliss!

I order this pet shampoo because I have a golden retriever that developed sensitivities to her old shampoo. I choose this product because of the good reviews and because they use organics. I have to bathe my dog pretty regularly because she is a therapy dog and has to be clean to make therapy dog visits. Since receiving this product I have given my dog three baths spread over a four week period and so far my dog has had no reaction to it. This is a different sort of shampoo being very thin, almost like water but once on the dog it suds up very nicely and is rather easy to rinse off. I live in the southern U.S. and as often as the weather permits I bathe my dog outside. I did notice the rinse water seems to have a white film on it that sticks to the top of the grass and I am not sure if that is from the oils or something else in the shampoo. My dog is clean after using this product, so clean in fact that her fur squeaks when I am rubbing/rinsing the shampoo out of her coat. The only negative I can share is the smell of the shampoo. While it is not horrible, it does have a sort of medicine smell to it that is hard to describe. The good thing about it is that once the shampoo is rinsed off, the smell of it is not strong on the dog, does not linger in the house and will likely be gone entirely by the next day. I will order this product again and recommend it to my friends who have dogs.

I’ve had seven dogs over the past 50 years and have alway dreaded bath day. This shampoo has changed all that. This shampoo is so easy to use ( just be sure to get a small squirt bottle to put it in). It lathers great, smells terrific, and rinses out easily. My golden retriever is very allergic and this soothes her skin and she has no negative reaction to it. I’ve included a couple pics of her during and after her bath. I think she looks great. She smells like lemon balm and her fur is so silky. I also love that it has lots of good stuff in it for her skin, including organic ingredients. I can highly recommend this product 👍👍👍

It doesn’t smell like blueberry and is very liquidy, not sudsy.! And has an after smell that’s pretty strong. Not my fav but we use it

This shampoo is awesome. It is easy to apply and rinse. I will recommend you letting it sit on your dog for few minutes and then rinse and repeat, Excellent product for sensitive dog skin! Perfect dog shampoo. Significantly reduced itching of my Dog and its coat appeares more healthy, soft and shiny after only using it twice. I am so happy that I dont have to use anymore harsh chemicals on my Dog and getting worried how it affects him!. Chemicals in the past gave my dog serious case of dermatitis. He was itching and visibly feeling bad... but this shampoo really change my life and his too !! The ingredients are nice and simple, and mostly natural, which is nice. It doesn't contain . It is made in the USA, so no shady Chinese chemicals! My dog in general has problems with allergies and has very sensitive skin, and this shampoo seems to eliminate dandruff and help her stay less itchy and develop fewer rashes. It smells very good during the bath and while she's wet, and has little to no odor once she's dry. It makes her fur very soft, which is surprising since she has very short fur. The softness lasts about a week or more! We just Love It ! I highly recommend it and will continue using it !

Since I have a very serious rare central nervous system disease with a long list of health issues and allergies, I was looking for a safe shampoo that I could use on my fur babies. Plus one of my babies has allergy issues. I studied advanced applied chemistry and this PET SOAP by Vermont Soap company is the safest shampoo I have found. Under the FD&C Act, companies are required to list ingredients on consumer cosmetic, personal care and food products in descending order of amount. The term "flavor and fragrances" can be declared under the summary description without disclosing the actual chemical analysis. Incidental ingredients at insignificant levels do not need to be declared. BUT CLEANING and PET PRODUCTS are not governed by the FD&C Act.!!! Don't let the industry fool you with terms such as "natural" or "coconut derived surfactant" which can contain very harmful "Sodium Laurel Sulfate"! I contacted several manufacturers of pet shampoos who didn't disclose ingredients. One company played the our "secret recipe" game, tried to hide the ingredients in the terms surfactant and pearlizing agent, which are descriptions of what the products does not the INCI (International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients)!!! INGREDIENTS: Saponified Organic Oils of Coconut, Olive and Jojoba, Rosemary Essential Oil, Lemongrass Essential Oil, Natural Rosemary Extract, Organic Aloe Vera. The ingredients are simple... cleanse, moisturize, deoderize. Thats it! Now as with everyone and even pets they can have reactions to organic, oils, act. but this is very safe for even sensitive humans and pets. FRAGRANCE: that strong smell is the "LEMONGRASS" oil. Oils such as Lemongrass, Citronella, Clove, Rosemary, Cajeput, Eucalyptus, Cedar, Catnip, Lavender can be used as a natural flea, tick and mosquito repellant on both pets and humans. I make my own for myself and dogs. So great its in this shampoo. Oils by nature cling so after washing your pet, wash your hands to remove traces of the oils and fragrance. APPLICATION: Apply without diluting and avoid eyes since oils can irritate the yes. If you do get it in the pets eyes just flush with water, pet eye wash or moisturizing eye drops. Suds Up nicely and doesn't strip the dogs coat. For thicker or double coated pets you might need to work harder, use extra shampoo, shampoo twice or even try Vermont's Horse Shampoo! I DID NOT RECEIVE ANY DISCOUNT...JUST AN EDUCATED CONSUMER PASSING ON MY KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE WITH A PRODUCT IM HAPPY TO HAVE FOUND AND ENDORSE.
