Casabella 50008, Painted Steel Original Mop

Very few good wringer type mops on the market since Swiffer type products have taken over. The number of years that I have used mops would make most depressed so I'll suffice to say that I have tried many brands over the years. This is hands down the best. FYI I used it on ceramic tile, but I could see it being effective on whatever flooring that you usually need a mop for. The reasons: 1. Good weight....not too heavy. 2. Wrings out the most amt of water I've ever seen, so floor dries in one half the time...truly amazing 3. The sponge is so effective that there is no need for a "scratchy" edge to take up scuff or hard to remove marks 4. You don't have to be super person to get the wringer mechanism to work properly I wish I had known about this mop 30 years ago. It is worth every penny. I just got it, so I haven't changed the head, but I did watch the you tube video before I bought the mop and it appears to be a no brainer type operation, which is a change from most mop head wrestling matches. I did buy a extra mop head at the same time I bought the mop.

Purchased in January, 2018 from Amazon. (Verified) The BEST mop I have ever used was the original Amway Fulcrumatic Mop... Unfortunately , the replacement heads have been unavailable for 2 decades, so I have used others brands for the replacement heads, (I was unable to find out from Amway who the original equipment manufacturer was or if they were still in business at that time ). Having said that, The Casabella Original Mop is as good as the old Amway mop, possible a little better as you can purchase replacement heads (at least, so far). Since they have been in business for decades, future replacement head availability is not an issue for me. I have used many other brands of sponge mops, as well, over the years. Easy to use, effective and easy to squeeze with the rollers and to clean after use. This model is excellent and deserves 5 plus stars! Let me know if you find a better one, as to date, this is the BEST Mop with which I am familiar.

I've had a mop like this before and I loved it. I loved this mop as well, but the mop head broke after a single use which is giving me pause. The mop head is a large rectangular sponge which is pinched into a piece of metal which then attaches to the mop. At the very end of my first use of this mop the sponge detached from the metal base and bingo, I can no longer mop with my mop. Very disappointing. The seller sent me another mop head and it didn't even last as long as the first one. I don't know how I could possibly wringing the mop wrong (you just pull the lever) so it has to be a defeat with the mop head. Maybe I've been unlucky and I got two from a bad batch. This is a shame because I love the mop and I love the absorption and other qualities of the mop head.

Although the mop sponge is 4 1/2" shorter than our older Casabella mop, it does a good job. It seems to be a little flimsier than the original, but still well made. The new style mop sponge is easier to replace than the older model so that's a bonus. The overall quality seems to be better than other brands. I gave the mop four stars since Casabella shortened the length of the songe 4 1/2". Shrinkflation strikes again!

I really like this mop. I've been using a Swiffer-type mop and find I'm just pushing dirt around rather than actually picking it up. My husband likes those big janitorial style of mops with the rag heads but they're too clumsy and awkward for me to use. This mop seems to be a nice sturdy item and the mop head is great at picking the little things up. It rinses cleanly and is ready to go again. I still do spray the floor down with Once and Done but then use the mop on this, rinsing it out after each use. I then follow up with a cleaning pad on the end of my O-Cedar spray mop (I don't use the sprayer) to dry and polish the floors. The floors look terrific. I can't speak to its longevity but I sure like it right now.

My wife prefers butterfly type mops. Since retiring, I've done more household chores that were under my wife's domain. She finished her career years ahead of me and took care of the house. Outside stuff has always been on me. I have never been happy with the amount of moisture left in her mop after wringing. I tried many roller types, resorting to squeezing the rollers by hand to get more water out of the sponge. This Casabella is the first mop to get most of the water out. No more puddles on the floor or leaving vast amounts of water behind. I no longer have to wait "forever" to walk on the floor with out leaving footprints. The sponge is still working like new, six weeks later. The mop is very sturdy, well built and worth the price.

Everyone raves sviut this mop. It is a glorified supermarket mop. And the sponge is made of kind of yucky material. The worst was when I tried to get a replacement sponge and somehow could not pit it on as I had lost a part to the actual mop when I threw out that nasty sponge. I don’t think the company makes this anymore. With good reason. Try something more environmentally friendly.

I'm very happy with my Casabella Original mop. It is well made, versatile in operation and is an elegant design to boot.

I tried several other of the "cheaper" Vileda mops when our trusty old steel "Bee Mop" finally fell apart a few years ago. Those "cheaper" mops never seemed to last and would break quickly --- being tired of the cheaper alternatives, I ordered the "Casabella Original Mop, Painted Steel" to try and find an equally sturdy replacement to the original. This mop has worked well for several years; however, what prompted me to write this review is the outstanding support from the manufacturer (Casabella). I recently had a problem with the mop handle and reached out to the company for support. They were responsive and quickly took care of the issue. Beyond the quality of the item, this positive experience with the manufacturer would lead me to recommend this mop to anyone looking for a quality item backed by a company that takes pride in its products.
