Product Description ------------------- This high quality High Speed Steel (HSS) Völkel tap set has been precision made for cutting threads in metal. Manufactured to ISO 529 standards, this tap set is for thread cutting in non abrasive material up to 900N/mm2. This straight flute tap set can be used for making new threads or for cleaning old threads. This tap set can be used for through holes and blind holes in unalloyed or low alloyed steel. As this tap set is manufactured by one of the leading threading and cutting tool suppliers in Europe and globally, it is finished to the highest quality levels you would expect - the threads of the taps have been precision ground and a very high quality High Speed Steel is used. The set comprises of 3 taps - x1 Taper tap (also known as the 'first' tap), x1 Second tap (also known as the 'intermediate' tap) and x1 Plug tap (also known as the 'bottoming' or 'third' tap). It will cut right handed threads. All the taps are full form which means that they cut full threads. It is recommended that a suitable cutting oil or lubricant is used with this product.
