Such a lovely story- perfect to read to 5-7 yr olds!

My son’s school introduced this book in year R. I bought it for him. Both my son and myself love it and easy to read. Worth a buy!

I bought this book to read to the children I work with who struggle to understand their feelings and the feelings of others. The book is beautifully illustrated and the few, but very poignant words are meaningful and thought provoking. The children seem to be able to empathise with the character Beegu, and understand the emotions Beegu may be feeling and consequently can then relate this to their feelings. This is the second book I own by Alexis Deacon, I also use 'Lost and Found' with the children, and again the children can really empathise with the Penguin and relate this to their experiences. Both books are beautifully illustrated and simply written, but really touch the heart and allow the children to explore emotions at a level they understand.

The most beautiful book. It tells the story of a little alien crash landing on Earth, wondering why she can't speak to anyone. The tale unfolds, with lovely illustrations how she manages to find her way home. We used it as our class book for our Y2 English lessons (using a free 'power of reading' scheme) and the writing it encouraged our class to make was wonderful! Quite a few our the class asked their parents to buy it for them, so it definitely made a good impression. It's a lovely story too, for the end of the day and can create some fantastic class discussions!

I’m a trainee teacher and we’re about to read this with our year ones. Definitely good for teaching young ones to treat each other with kindness.

My child was reading this book at school.ans talked about it a lot so wanted to get it for home. It came quick and we are both happy with it

Lovely little story of a little girl space alien who has landed on earth and lost her mummy and family and how she tries to find her family again and make friends with the strange people on earth. I read this with my little one then let him read independently, we had a nice chat about the book at the end and its well illustrated for the child to follow the book. A lovely little story we have read again and again.

We love Beegu! This book was bought for my daughter when she was 3. She still loves it now at age 11. It is a lovely book - not many words, lots of pictures and the children reading it can sense the story as it goes along. Really lovely and should be on every child's shelf.

Très belle histoire pour enfants, avec des dessins originaux et très beaux. L'histoire orientée pour les enfants est assez sympa. Plaît à ma fille de 2 ans et demi.

Ich habe dieses Buch mit großem Vergnügen in meinen zweiten Klassen vorgelesen. Es ist so großartig, dass man leicht eine ganze Unterrichtseinheit über fremdsein daraus machen könnte.
