I recieved the 2000EF filter on the first of may and connected it to my tank about 6 weeks ago. Today i decided to clean the filter. I took the two hoses off using the clamp system provided which seemed to work ok. When i cleaned the filters provided most of them were only fit to throw away. Then when i put the hose connection back on it wouldnt stay on. On closer inspection the two tiny lugs that hold it on had broken off. They are obviously not suitable and very flimsy . The filter is now useless and will np longer work. I contacted All ponds solutions and they dont want to know. They say its not covered as its cosmetic ? And gave me a link to but a new head system for it. Surely they last longer the one use ? . I wont be buying the parts or any other products from them. Utter rubbish

a touch fiddly to set up but easy enough, it isn't as silent as it states, but all in all pretty powerful and works great

Brought 3 of these now for 3 x 200l tanks (2000l/ph versions) 3ft growouts. They are quiet, spray bar is a good size for these 3ft tanks they are on and loads of room in the trays for media. On a slight downside, there is no foam for the bottom tray so I brought a few sheets from my LFS and placed a 3 layer filter in the bottom tray of foam going from coarse to fine, this of course has changed the flow (which I hoped it would). Also as I'm using in growouts, spray bars are pointed upwards and towards side wall so little current, and I added a pre-filter sponge (this one in fact Fluval Edge Pre-Filter Sponge ). There is a lot of room left in the trays out of the box after adding the media (it also has plastic bio-balls, not sure why for this sort of filter but they are in the pack), I packed the trays to full with bio rings (and set aside the balls) and because of the foam filtering on the first tray I have not used the filter floss pads that came with it. Came with charcoal too, straight in the bin, it a pointless media for a filter in everyday use as it does nothing but remove smells and meds and needs replacing almost weekly. All in all, I think for the price I paid I could not of hoped for better products.

So far appears to be better than my Fluval FX6 which cost 2.5 more and always had issues (noise and restarting after cleaning and after 1 year started to leak from the inlet nozzle fixing). A few design flaws from my perspective....intake could do with being adjustable for different heights/depths and the spray bar could do with being on a 360 degree swivel so you can position it in any direction in your tank..I am going to have to come up with a stragegy so I can come up with a way to position it across my tank re a glass ledge that is in the way :( , also handles on the main tank for transporting it to a sink for emptying it out for cleaning would be a bonus. The motor does make a low hum noises but the TV does cut this out. Easy to set up and restart. Overall well worth the money so far...I still recommend it.
