Temples of South India should rank amongst the most comprehensive and scholarly books written on temples in the peninsula. The huge canvas presented a daunting task involving tremendous research work and great photography. If, beside adding to our knowledge of these monumental temples of faith, the book rekindles that extinguished glimmer of hope and faith in our minds, it will be greatly rewarding. Review: Misleading title. - This is just to put on record that, though the title of the book tells "Temples of South India", the book covers only two Southern States: Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Moreover, it covers only six Temples from Karnataka and thirteen from Tamil Nadu. Out of the 13 from Tamil Nadu, three are from Kanchipuram only, and four are from Mamallapuram itself. Thus the temple towns covered from Tamil Nadu are only 8. In this sense, the title of the Book is misleading. Overall, it is an excellently produced Book.

This is just to put on record that, though the title of the book tells "Temples of South India", the book covers only two Southern States: Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Moreover, it covers only six Temples from Karnataka and thirteen from Tamil Nadu. Out of the 13 from Tamil Nadu, three are from Kanchipuram only, and four are from Mamallapuram itself. Thus the temple towns covered from Tamil Nadu are only 8. In this sense, the title of the Book is misleading. Overall, it is an excellently produced Book.
