is it madeof steel or cast iron- i would like to weld it to my Workbench for maximum support

Cast Iron. Which I think Provides superior alignment and betterr accruacy. I bolted mine with VERY HEAVY BOLTS to a heavy exterior door which was repurposed as a workbench. Thanks to all for the very clever ideas. BIlH
