Jump Back pulls together the Rolling Stones' biggest hits from 1971's Sticky Fingers right through to 1989's Steel Wheels . Although the non-chronological sequencing can be disorienting (the set kicks off with 1981's "Start Me Up", then immediately rewinds 10 years to the '71 classic "Brown Sugar"), the sheer quality and comprehensiveness of the disc proves the band was still a powerful force after the '60s ended. The strongest material here is from the early '70s, with standouts like the gorgeous "Wild Horses", the anthemic "It's Only Rock 'N Roll", and "Bitch", one of the Stones' best-ever full-tilt rockers. As always, Mick, Keith, and company ridesome funky grooves, too, especially on the disco-flavored "Hot Stuff" and "Miss You" (with its irresistible falsetto refrain). Of course, there are also good tunes from the '80s, including the wistful "Waiting on a Friend", a strong cover of Bob & Earl's 1964 hit "Harlem Shuffle", and 1989's "Mixed Emotions" (which recalls the group's earlier sound). Only the Stones could release a Best Of collection comprised of material from the decades following their acclaimed peak years and still make it sound like a rock & roll rulebook. Review: VERY GOOD - VERY GOOD Review: Only rock and roll but you will definitely like it - Great choice of tracks on here - thoroughly recommend it - if you, like me - prefer having a tangible item rather than streaming. Sound quality is great and it includes some of my personal absolute faves like Emotional Rescue and Tumbling Dice - tho tbh every tracks a winner.

brilliant updates
I used to have this CD album when first released. I sold it on when completing my Stones collection of albums. I decided to take a chance on this when seeing re-mastered dates. The sound is fantastic, no point in talking about the music from the best group ever. I never imagined these tracks could sound like this and it is a good compilation. If anybody suggests; no difference in sound then their equipment not up too much or they do not know the music. To anybody that has the original album CDs to the "old standard" buy this unless thinking of replacing all albums to recent re-masters

Great listening
The Rolling Stones are legends and since 1970 have produced a variety of music which does not always make them easy to label as the self styled "Greatest Rock'n Roll Band in the world". However, whilst such tracks as Emotional Rescue are not Satisfactory, Brown Sugar or other classics it does show the breath of talent these guys have. A collection of great tracks that do justice to the band but also leave you wanting to search the albums of this period for other gems.

Great compilation
If you are fairly casual Stones fan like me and you want to cover all your bases you probably need this as well as 40 licks.

brilliant condition and
2nd hand copy - arrived within two days, brilliant condition and, of course a great cd. The later stuff was never as good as 1963-1972 but a great selection of songs here.

"Stoned" in The Big Easy
I was a fan of the early Stones, but my interest in them cooled after "Let It Bleed". No reflection on them really; they changed, the times changed, and I changed, and moved to New Orleans - a radical relocation. But I always enjoyed hearing their hits. Recently, when I realized that I did not have "Angie" on CD (Thanks, David!), I grabbed this collection REAL quick. I find it to be very good, through and through. There are the really great songs that I remember, like "Brown Sugar", "It's Only Rock 'N Roll", "Tumbling Dice", "Wild Horses" and "B*tch". Then there are those that I remember, foggily but fondly, as being part of the soundtrack of my life, like "Start Me Up", "Miss You", "Hot Stuff", "Emotional Rescue" and "Waiting On A Friend". And finally, there are those that I barely remember, such as "Fool To Cry", "Mixed Emotions", "Undercover Of The Night" and "Rock And A Hard Place". I like them all, even "Harlem Shuffle", which I used to dislike. The remastered sound is excellent. And I can tell you for sure that all of the tracks sound sharper now than they ever did in the substance-abusing days and nights passed in French Quarter bars. So, if you need the same memory gap filled in that I did, here's a good way to do it.
