Philips 2 Device HDMI 2.1 Switch Splitter [8K@60Hz 4K@120Hz]

2 device switch: this switch exceeds expectations! I expected 4K passthrough, various surround formats passthrough, and so on, but what I did not expect from the product page but HOPED for, is that this unit will run off of the HDMI +5v line and not require USB power. I am very, very happy with this switch and use it to switch between my PC and Roku to a soundbar and one of my monitors. 5 stars all the way. :)

I had just received this HDMI switch, got it setup with my Xbox and AppleTV. It didn’t even last for 48 hours. It was working good until today when my daughter called me that the TV just stopped and said no input. If she unplugged the USB-C cable from it, then it allowed port 1 to pass through but the blue lights were off. I tried looking at it and it will not switch and stay on port 2 and won’t do anything if it has power going to it.

I needed a HDMI switch/splitter so I can switch between my laptop and my desktop easily while being connected to the same monitor. I didn't want to have to switch HDMI cables each time I wanted to switch so this device was my solution. It works easily, and so far the resolution and ease of use is perfect!

This HDMI switch is exactly what I wanted it to be: simple, small, quality build, well designed to be easy and quick to use in the situation I would be installing it, and no extra fluff that would make using it less efficient for what I wanted. I've had it for about 8 months, it is hooked up perpetually, and I use the switch at least a dozen times a day. It still works perfectly. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 -- the little button on top recently came loose. If I'm not careful, it will stick to my finger and then go flying before I realize it. Luckily the hole for the button is just big enough to fit a standard No.2 pencil (eraser end), so that's what I'm using to actuate the switch when I don't have time to find the original button on the floor somewhere. Other than that, this is giving no signs of quitting any time soon. Very happy with the purchase.

This works perfectly with a PS5 and Xbox at 4K 120hz. If you're reading reviews where people are saying it doesn't work, it's because of their cables. You have to make sure your cables support 4K at 120hz. Signal splitting works. Picture quality is great. Had no problems getting it up and running.

I purchased 10 different brands of HDMI 2.1 Switchers/Selectors and this one never worked to swap a PS5 between a Sony X90J TV and an Sony X85J TV! I was using the OEM HDMI 2.1 cables from Sony.

If you’re connecting 2 computers to a shared monitor. This does what I thought the other brands would do. Push button switching the source. The resolutions work. No flicker and flash. No slow picture switch. A tactile button that feels like quality. And it’s just much smaller. Didn’t need to use external power either. A few extra dollars over the usual suspects. But worth it. (I like UGREEN and Anker and their other gear. So it’s not just vendor preference. This is about product.)

Build quality is really nice and I was impressed with it when I opened the package — nice smooth metal and a satisfying, easy to use button. And the device is powered by USB Type-C, something modern! However, the positives end there. For PS5, the console would no longer recognize that it supported 120 Hz VRR, and for Xbox Series X, at first the image was being output as 640x480, with no option to change it, and then it stopped working for that device/input altogether. This is supposed to be an HDMI 2.1 switch but it seems it doesn't actually support what it says it does. Connections are unreliable and ultimately you'd be better off with the Monoprice Blackbird at roughly this same price point. I thought Philips was a good name brand to buy, but apparently not in this case. Don't buy.

Works exactly as it should do. Good value and a good brand.

Really good product, have not connected to my PS5 / Xbox series X running through a sound bar. No loss of picture quality. Been using for a year now. Top product.
