So easy to connect to Matter over wifi to Home Assistant. No app needed, no one spying on you. All done locally with no need for connection to the cloud. Compared to the usual faffing around when I've had to connect smart bulbs via an app this was so easy. And the speed! It's lightning fast and responsive because it's not being sent halfway around the world over the internet. Highly recommended if you want security, speed and reliability. You don't need any hub just a local wifi network. And you don't need an app if you have home assistant with matter installed. This is how home automation should be. The bulbs themselves are bright for just 9W and the colours are great. They look like a high quality product. If you are using over Matter they don't have all the functions available that you'd have on the app but I can live with that as you can change colour, control transistion times and tone. Great buy. I will definitely be using Matter devices going forward.

I’ve been really pleased with these Govee smart bulbs. Setting them up was straightforward and once connected to the Govee app there are loads of options for changing the colour, brightness and overall atmosphere of the room. The colours are vibrant and there’s a huge range to choose from, but the normal white lighting is good too. I particularly like being able to switch between warmer lighting in the evening and a brighter white during the day rather than being limited to just coloured effects. The app gives you much more control than a standard smart bulb, with different scenes and effects available as well as the ability to create your own settings. The bulbs respond quickly when making changes and I haven’t found myself waiting around for them to update. At 800 lumens they’re plenty bright enough for everyday use, and being able to dim them from the app is really convenient. Having two in the pack also works well if you want matching lighting in lamps on either side of a room. There are cheaper basic smart bulbs available, but the range of colours and customisation you get with Govee makes these feel worth paying a little extra for. Overall, really good quality smart bulbs that are easy to use, bright and incredibly customisable. I’d happily buy more for other rooms.

These Govee RGBWW smart bulbs are bright, colourful, and great value for the price. The white light is especially good thanks to the dedicated warm and cool white LEDs, and colours look vivid. They work well with Apple HomeKit via Matter for basic on/off and brightness, and have been reliable in automations. Compared to Meross bulbs, these are noticeably brighter and produce better whites. My Meross bulbs started acting up after 2–3 years, which is the main reason I decided to replace them with these. One thing to note: brightness and colour configuration can be confusing at first. You need to set your preferred colour and brightness in the Govee app first, then let HomeKit handle automation. Once that’s done, it’s consistent. Overall, a solid choice if you want powerful smart bulbs and don’t mind using the Govee app alongside HomeKit.

Has so much customisation available on the app, as well as so many different features such as automatically turning on when the sun goes down. Really good. Works well with Alexa, you can control the colour and brightness with voice activation, and also link it to alarms on Alexa and probably more that I haven’t set up yet. Was really easy to set up too. 😋😋 Amazing for the price.
