LeSaffre Saf-Instant Yeast, Gold, 1 Pound, (Pack of 2)

I didn’t start baking for the quarantine, but I’ve really learned more about it and been more regular since. This was my first venture beyond the 2.5 tsp packets and I was pleasantly surprised. After watching numerous YouTube vids, I chose this brand (I’d only ever used Fleishman’s) and when it came, it was vacuum sealed like a package of coffee. I tossed one package in the freezer and divided the otherr into two small brown ball jars. Adding a label including the “use by” date, I started my first loaf of whole wheat bread in my bread machine. The loaf is as good and light as any I’ve produced from this recipe, maybe a bit more rise which is fine with me. Looks like I’m good for the apocalypse!

I love this ceased for so many reasons it performs beautifully. You can use a little bit less and you can add directly into your dry mix. I just love it. It makes baking breads so much more simple.

This yeast has been consistent and dependable for breads, rolls, and enriched doughs. It gives a good rise and is easy to use without the extra step of proofing.

I've been baking since the early 1970s and have tried many brands. SAF is the best yeast there is! SAF GOLD is top of the line and is superior for any dough with additives or a bit of sweetness, which includes nearly all doughs. Granulated. Vacuum packed. Store in refrigerator before opening and in freezer in a glass jar after opening. You can still spoon it out when it's been in the freezer. Use it like any yeast in a recipe that calls for a dry measure of yeast, ie teaspoon, tablespoon etc. I use it for artisan bread where you store the dough in the refrigerator for days and it holds up beautifully. This is the only yeast I will use. Bake bread weekly. If I'm out, I defer baking until it arrives. Excellent price here at Amazon, as well. I paid more in a bulk store, so feel good about this price.

Keeps for years in the freezer in a tightly sealed Mason jar. Happy with this purchase but will revert to the red label going forward bc I do not bake enough sweet breads to need this yeast. Took 5 years to use bath packages - the last rose as well as the first.

I got this yeast because of its price and the review on it is pretty good. This is my 2nd purchase on the same exact item. The review says it is good on sweet bread but I have been making all kinds of bread. The result is excellent every single time. The yeast stays fresh and active. I just love it! This is the best brand I have used so far.

I'm a relatively recent bread baker, having taken it up in the last 3 years because I feel like if I'm going to be eating bread, I may as well have it sans-preservatives, right? The yeast seems to work as well as Fleischman's and Red Star, refrigerates well, freezes well, dissolves fine in warm water, activates well. Besides, it came at the right time (was running low, and all the panic-shoppers kept buying up all the freaking yeast. Jerks).

Seller was great to work with. Still not 100% Still not 100%surr what exact conversion is from a us yeast like Fleischmans (sp?) So I am still experimenting, if anyone has a good ratio explanation that would be great. Seller shipped very fast, product was more expensive than normally as yeast us hard to get right now, but it is not the sellers fault per say as supply and demand. Very happy to have the yeast to be able to make bread etc. Thank you

The SAF Yeasts whether Red or Gold are probably the best instant yeasts you can use. The best thing about Instant Yeast is you don't have to proof it. You just drop it in with your dry ingredients and it saves time and does a wonderful thing to your dough when it rises. Very good yeast.
