Easy to use and low priced testing tool for cables and chargers and devices
Works as advertised and allows you to test cables and chargers to make sure you are getting promised settings on devices and cables. Never knew these existed until schooled by youtube where this one came highly recommended for its price range. I am simply an end user and sometimes have to troubleshoot things that are not working as expected. This is a great tool and has features I haven't used yet but am sure at some point will need, I'm just not at that point yet. Very easy to use with an easy to read screen. Probably one of those things you probably could use for troubleshooting and learning how things work and how simple the principals are. So you will probably hear of this device, and as one reviewer said that it is much better than you would expect at this price point. He is absolutely correct and it actually does more than I need at this point as well as simple to use. What more could you want with an electronic diagnostic tool?

As expected
Firstly, it arrived in less than a week. From the US to Fiji, a tiny country in the middle of the Pacific ocean. That was impressive. Then, it works just as promised and just as I expected. I wanted to be able to know how much power my dead laptop was pulling. This device told me exactly what I wanted to know and helped me be able to further troubleshoot my laptop. Another point is that it is not an expensive device. Even if it was a use-once device, the purchase would still be justifiable considering the price. But, it can last quite a while if looked after well. The cost of shipping only was a little high, but that's because of my location. Great product.

Does not have A power off memory.
I would love to give this song five stars because it gives you a lot of information in such a compact unit. The construction is good and the screen is incredibly easy to read and it even tells you the temperature of the device that is pushing the most power so you know if you’re overheating some thing which is very helpful. The only reason that I did not give it five stars is because it does not have a memory on it so once you unplug it all the data that is collected is erased which makes it hard to test capacity because if you accidentally unplug it you would have to completely drain and recharge your power banks . I would say this is definitely good for testing the power capabilities of power supplies or power banks but I wouldn’t rely on it for being able to test capacity very often because it’s not exactly easy when you can’t unplug it when needed

works as described type C volt ammeter, reversible current flow!
IMPT note, if your meter reads inaccurate, try factory reset as per instructions under no load. In my version, press and hold the button then insert the rear end into a 5Vdc source, more DC accurate is better, but any will do, the DC will read the device voltage and current should go to near zero. Retested with the Ruideng to confirm accurate reading. Pros I use QC 2.0 and it works, doesn't interfere with fast charging great way to see how much power is entering the phone at various phases of charging, particularly QC works with type C as a pass through volt, ammeter and power meter, and reversible! Accurate enough, I plugged it into a Ruideng UM25C and it was in agreement with volts and amps reversible current flow, you can plug the female or male end into the source, likewise the female end or male end into the load, whatever it convenient easy to use, only one button small, easy to carry, and backlit easy to see in the dark rotates screen 180 deg Cons the case of the meter interferes with the male C jack fitting into some devices, such as my phone with its protective case, case has to be removed but since the power flow is reversible, you can plug whichever works best with your cable Feature wish: make the LCD readout rotate in 90 deg steps, like the Ruideng UM25C. Then it can be seen at most all angles the meter is connected too. As is at 180 deg works well.

Great USB-C monitoring
Really like these inline USB-C monitors. They price is right, and they provide voltage, current and wattage derived from voltage and current, as well as a measurement of resistance. The display is bright and clear, but it is a little small -- obviously the trade-off in making a small inline device. The device refreshes its measurements every second or two, so it won't catch high dynamic load variations. I believe the display is OLED, so time will tell if burn-in causes and degradation in the display over time.

Handy tool for checking power draw, charging speed, and more
This USB-C meter tester is easy to use, and as accurate as the amp range on my Fluke meters (but not as accurate as the milliamp range which measures tenths, revealing the low digit of the Fluke in ampere range and this meter to be off by +4 digits for loads of 0-1 mA). It excels at measuring power, and provides a very good measurement of the power used over a period of time, differentiating between the various rapid charge modes and revealing the effects of long cable impedence. The single control button is used effectively to switch between modes and display orientation (it can display upside down from its normal orientation for ease of reading).

Shows invaluable information
Invaluable information is provided by this device; you can hook it between a portable battery and your laptop or phone, and see what voltage and current is being delivered, and measure the mAh and mWh over time. Good display. I wish it would have even a brief memory so if you interrupt a circuit for just a second, you don't lose the accumulated values. Biggest problem is - it doesn't show 'direction' of flow; so if you hook it between your laptop and your battery pack, you don't know who is charging whom! (this actually happened to me - an external battery was charging my laptop but then the laptop got fully charged, and the battery started drawing charge (being charged) from the laptop! Luckily, the battery itself tells you when its being charged.

Look elsewhere! 2 DOA where it worked for USB-A but not USB-C
This product does not work as it should or I have received back to back faulty testers. Both behaved the same. I tried several USB-C power adapters including Apple, a Commercial Electric USB-C charging cube, and an Otterbox USB-C 60W charging adapter. I tried various USB-C cables too and nothing. The Makerfire would not light up on the display no matter if I tried both sides of the device. For the heck of it I took a 5v USB-A power adapter and plugged in a USB-A to USB-C cable into it and that into the Makerfire. It worked. This makes no sense. With that said, there is something wrong with this device. Maybe it was a bad batch and the replacement one I got from Amazon after returning the original came from the same lot. Regardless, this Makerfire tester is not functioning correctly nor was it tested at the factory because if it was I would not have had all these problems with it and wasted a good hour of my time messing around with it. Like I said, look elsewhere for a better product.

MakerHawk Type-C USB Meter Tester
I have several chargers and USB C cables and wanted to know how quickly they were charging devices The iPhone 15 comes with a 60 watt cable. The cable for a MacBook Pro is either 100 watt or 240 watt. None of these cables are marked as to how much power they can deliver. This device is great for checking them and seeing the voltage and current they supply. Great product for the price.
