Freshwater Round Oyster Pearl Cultured Oysters with Pearls Inside 20 PC (7-8mm)

Omg these were so much fun!!! I ordered them for my 8 year olds mermaid-themed birthday party, and they were a huge hit. The pearls looked great for what I paid. Honestly, it was the easiest party favor ever. I looked at a bunch of reviews for various versions of this product, and a lot of them mentioned odor. However, I didn’t notice it with these. I even directly sniffed them a few times (lol) and they were fine.

I ended up getting oysters from different sellers to check them out and make sure it was good enough pearls for a pearl party I am hosting for my friends. I've never had a party before so this is insanely important to me. I ordered 20 oysters from this seller and decided to open 2 of them. There is a slight smell but not too terribly bad....however, if you do what I do and place it in water first before opening then that scent goes away. I opened 2 of them and was instantly pleased with the pearls inside. While the oysters themselves were a bit small the pearls...one pink and a dark colored one were adequate size. The pink one was in the tiniest oyster I'd ever seen but it was the bigger of the two pearls and had a fantastic color. The dark colored one is so dark it looks black. I believe these pearls will please my friends so I placed the rest of them in the refridgerator until all my orders of pearls, cages, necklaces and bracelets come in and I can coordinate the party.

Update: The company contacted me and resolved this! Thank you Seasan. I never write reviews on products but this order was so bad I had to warn others!!! I bought 3 packs for a total of 60 oysters. Some of them were rotted and the smell was so putrid. Everyone of them with the exception of a few had huge blemishes. Half the color was missing or had large scrapes and dents. I cannot use these for what i intended and my girls were so upset. Definitely not worth the money!!!

The oysters arrived in a very neat package exactly as described. I bought them for my daughter's birthday party next weekend but opened a few to make sure I got and what I paid for. Of the six that I opened four were beautiful, one was very small , and another was very cloudy and had no color or luster to it. On a positive note all six were different colors. I will update this after the party. Update #1 The company has already contacted me and offered to replace the unusable pearls. I will post another update once I have opened all of them.

These are great. An adult should open; our 5 year old grandson went crazy with anticipation and excitement. We've opened about 6 so far. I'm saving some to open with my granddaughter for her birthday. We also got to Google mollusks/ clams to study how the pearls are made. The colors are vibrant. No repeats so far. Even the smallest clam had the same size pearl as the larger ones. All are shiny. They only have a slight smell of alcohol. Who hasn't gotten a whiff of alcohol lately! ( I'm sure if not preserved, they'd stink to high heaven! I'm very happy. 20 pearls with the experience is well worth the price I paid. I'll probably buy more later.

While the pearls are really pretty. They are not "round" they are more like rice shaped and have a rough, uneven texture. If you are looking for true rounds, these not not it.

We were looking to have some fun and replace pearls that have been lost, and to give a few as gifts. The package contained 20 oysters; we kept 16 for our family, and gifted the others. Each oyster was air sealed and we soaked them in water to try and rid them of the smell. I highly recommend wearing gloves because the smell is horrendous. Our kids could not stop giggling because it was really that bad. The colors of the pearls were bright with hardly any blemishes or flaws, and were mostly round in shape. Some of them were quite large but still fit into the cage pendants we had. The price was great for the quantity and quality. Overall, we were very pleased with the product.

The others made up for my disappointment when each one revealed several different pearl colors. They were fun and would be great for people in a large group. I will probably be ordering from this seller again in the future. It was a fun project and well worth what I paid. Thank you for such a great experience.
