24 Water Spangles (Salvinia Minima), Live Aquarium/Aquatic/Floating/ Pond/Beginner Plant by G&Z

I got my water spangle today. I ordered 24 plants, I got nearly 40. They were small but this plant grows so quickly, and it’s bigger than my duckweek so it’s a freak contrast! I have ordered floater plants from several different buyers; this one is the best. Everything was extremely healthy when I received them. There was a single leaf that looks a bit rotted, but one leave out of allll the plants is amazing! There was no hidden pests, the plants had good roots so my tank looked amazing as soon as I got the floaters in the water. I’ve already have a second order in with this seller because of the fantastic quality. Thank you!!!

Not for us. We thought the leaves would be bigger. Came in a good size box. It is literally 1 MM per leaf. Didnt even try to count how many spangles we received. For 2 orders, we paid over 20 bucks and it was in a very small baggie in a box 50 times bigger than the bag.

I got this for my 20 gallon long aquarium, as I was planning on getting some white cloud minnows, and they like floating plants to shelter in... and the crayfish hiding at the bottom of the tank is a savage little lawnmower who has destroyed every other live plant I've tried adding to the tank, so it HAD to be floating at least mostly out of her reach to even stand a chance. The salvinia came in looking a little rough, with almost no root to be seen because of shipping stress, but after just a couple of days they started sprouting. My main concern was that I hadn't gotten nearly enough for my tank- the amount I got didn't even cover a spot the size of my palm. If you are also getting these little beauties for an aquarium instead of a pond? THE SMALLEST AMOUNT IS MORE THAN ENOUGH. Good lord, the way this plant spreads out. A month and a half later, and my tank is completely covered in a thick, luscious bed of gorgeous, healthy salvinia. I've taken scoops full of the stuff out and added it to other tanks and it's spreading and propagating there, too. It's grown in so thick that the little plants are trying to stack on top of one another. If I had more surface area, they'd spread out and propagate all the more. The roots are around an inch, inch and a half long, soft, and spread out beautifully, making a little upside-down forest for my white clouds to play in. Like other floating plants, salvinia is a nitrate sponge, which helps keep my water parameters great. Between them hogging the nutrients and hogging the light, my constant algae battle in that particular tank has gotten much less frantic. And when the crayfish wants a salad treat, well, there's plenty of wholesome greens for her to choose from. Seriously, though, the way these things replicate is insane. I feel like I could fill a kiddie pool with this stuff by now and it's only been a month and a half. The only problem I've had with it is keeping my HOB filter from dunking it all under water (a floating ring of air tube solved that). Treat your fishies. Get yourself some salvinia. You won't be sad that you did.

I can't be positive which plant cause the problem, I ordered this and another plant from somewhere else. I did not quarantine, I just put them in my aquarium next thing I know I'm infested with dragonfly nymphs. Very predatorial Critters. My little shrimp were in danger. The plants themselves were great. One of these sellers is harboring pests and spreading them. The other plant was a horn wart

Came faster than promised. The plants all looked nice and green. They've been in the tank about a week now and are still thriving. Looking forward to seeing them propagate over time.

Plants arrived alive and healthy!

Definitely relieved more than the 24 that I ordered and mostly all of it was perfectly healthy. The extra spangles well make up for the few that didn’t arrive so well. As for hitchhikers, I only noticed 3 different kinds of harmless organisms indicating to me that the spangles likely came from a healthy aquarium. The species I observed that came with the spangles were ostracods, detritus worms, and midge larvae. I noticed no snails or planarian worms during my quarantine process. Highly recommend!
